Project Runway Gets Bitten

episode_02_sarah-jessica.jpg

If you missed last week’s episode of Project Runway, here’s the short version of what you need to know: three criers, one fashion icon, some saliva on a dress and a racer-back vest.

Good Lord, I couldn’t keep my eyes off Sarah Jessica Parker, lovely as usual, but kind of squinty. Did anyone else notice that? She’s the guest judge this week where the designers were asked to create a look for Sarah Jessica’s fall/winter collection of her new line, Bitten.

I couldn’t hold it in when Chris started crying at the sight of his idol, SPJ, the (alleged) sole reason why he moved to NYC, and then again when Ricky started bawling during his personal interview, declaring, “I’m more than just a lingerie designer!” I mean really, I know you’re excited to be here, but please, try to contain yourself!

I definitely winced when Elisa spit on her blue fabric – I mean, how could someone do that? I wouldn’t have touched her dress with a 10-foot pole, no matter how cute the dress turned out to be! PS - the gray cape is to DIE for! And the blue dress is even cuter (without the spit, of course).

And finally, our last crier of the night, Carmen (like the opera!), was in tears because she had to defend herself in front of the judges and throw her 80s-adoring partner, Christian, under the bus. Oh girl, if it’s not your vision, your design, then it’s fair game to say that someone else should go home. Haven’t you watched previous seasons?

By far, I loved Victorya’s gray frock with the cute racer-back vest. It was simple, modern, and, I imagine, would have been completely flattering on any body type, I was impressed.

I loved Elisa’s cape too, but I still cringe when I think that I could subject myself to wearing anything with someone else’s spit on it. Ewww..
