Bond No. 9 of the Week: Bleeker Street

bleeker-street.jpg

Bond No. 9’s Bleeker Street fragrance launched in the fall of 2007 and was created to capture the spirit of New York’s West Village neighborhood.

Fragrance follows fashion, so when Bleecker Street became the New York fashion designers’ hot spot Bond No. 9 created an ultra-modern, day-to-evening Eau de Parfum in its name.

When I first tried this perfume, I noticed immediately that it was a unisex fragrance. Now, I’m not a fan of unisex perfumes - mostly because I fear smelling like a boy. And this fragrance most certainly reminded me of the old-school colognes we used to wear back in junior high and high school.. CK One, anyone?

But as the day wore on, I really started getting into the perfume. Maybe because it brought back nostalgic memories of my adolescence. Or maybe it was the wonderful smell of jasmine and vanilla that were coming through. Either way, Bleeker Street lingered on my skin all day and I couldn’t be happier.

The Take-Off:
- Non-shrinking Violet Leaf
- Cassis that goes way beyond kir royale
- All the Thyme in the world

The Heart:
- Jasmine with street smarts
- Out-of-the-closet Cedarwood
- Misbehaving Cinnamon

The Bottom:
- Oakmoss with an agenda
- Suede without shame
- Patchouli with a mind of its own
- Amber that whispers
- Seductive Vanilla

Bleeker Street retails for $130 US for a 1.7 oz. bottle and is available now exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide, on Saks.com and at Bond No. 9’s four New York boutiques.
