Happy Birthday.. to Me!!

daily-cookie-bday.jpg

Yup, it’s my big day and even though I’ve been dreading my birthday this year, now that it’s here, I’m really excited! This is particularly strange of me because normally I LOVE my birthday and like to celebrate during the entire month of January.

And it’s not because I get birthday drinks, toasts, and hugs via Facebook and MySpace making me feel like people remember who I am, or because I can pretty much get away with doing any saying anything (all I have to say is “It’s my birthday” and most will chuckle and let me go about my business), but because the Boyfriend is taking me out to dinner at a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try for almost a year - WOO HOOOO!

Tonight, we’re heading over to the St. Francis hotel in Union Square and we’re going to wine and dine at Michael Mina right in here in San Francisco. I’m especially excited because I’ve been saying that I wanted to try restaurants where these world-renowned chefs have been guests on one of my favorite reality TV shows, Top Chef, and who could forget Michael Mina’s appearance at the finale of Season 1 - I sure can’t.

So watch out for my restaurant review in the next couple of days to see what I think of Michael Mina - that’s right, it’s my birthday so I can act like I’m a real food expert if I want to.. just call me Julia Child!!
