Review: Lancôme L.U.C.I. Collection and FOTD

luci-spring-20082.jpg

I’m a sucker for lip colors.

For me, it makes more of statement for my personal beauty. My eye makeup can always be the same (and it usually was – until I started this blog!) but lip colors can help me change my mood.

Sheer glosses means that I’m lazy. Natural lip colors with smokey or colored eye makeup means that I will not commit a beauty faux pas today. Red lips make me feel sassy (plus I love the compliments!) And any other color, especially deep berries just make me feel like a real, grown up woman.

For Gucci Westman’s final color collection for Lancôme, L.U.C.I., this beauty duo gives us iridescent shades that are inspired by seashells, water and beaches and its play on light. The collection includes a few shades that are photonic and captures light in different ways and on different skin tones.

I really enjoyed playing with these colors to try and mix and match what shades I would like best.

However, if you truly enjoy makeup and love to mix and match colors anyway, you won’t need Lancôme’s photonic shades to help you create your looks. I enjoyed the Sunray gloss on its own, maybe for those days I’m feeling a little lazy, but want to show a bit of sparkle.

As for the Ombres Glacée in Morning Pearl, I found that formula to be a bit runny when I swatched it. I definitely think this product would be hard to work with if you want to use it as an eye shadow. In my FOTD photo, I used it as a brow highlighter and a little on the apple of my cheeks. Just a couple pats does it and even though it’s a little runny, it dried pretty quickly, so work fast!

Lancôme L.U.C.I. FOTD:

Eyes:
- MAC Beige-ing Shadestick
- Lancôme Ombres Glacée in Morning Pearl
- MAC Coffee Eye pencil
- Lancôme Cils Booster XL
- L’Oreal Original Voluminous Mascara

Cheeks:
- MAC Peachykeen Blush
- Lancôme Ombres Glacée in Morning Pearl

Lips:
- Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Desert Pink
- Color Fever Gloss in Seashell

My absolute favorite from this collection is the Seashell gloss (maybe because I love glosses). It’s a great shade of hot pink that won’t make your stomach gurgle at the thought of the first bubble gum pink lippie you sported oh-so-long ago. Oh wait, was that just me??

Are you curious about this L.uminous C.olorless C.olor I.ntelligence? What do you think about its claim for “a formula that looks white to the eye, but when applied to the skin or on top of another product, it creates a spectacular transformation” from my original post?
