Review: Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics & FOTD

I’m been familiarizing myself with mineral makeup, but I still haven’t tried mineral foundation, or anything that I need to make into a liquid from a powder or measure out. It just seems like too much work for me. However, I’m slowly moving into the mineral makeup arena with colors.

Recently, I had an opportunity to try out an indie mineral cosmetics company, Lumiere Cosmetics, I learned of through reading Christiana’s blog. They have a huge array af products - from face foundations and concealers to eye, cheek and lip color.

The cool thing about Lumiere is that you also have the option of buying the quantity you want as well. You can purchase sample sizes (1/4 tsp of product), travel (4 grams) and full (12 grams) sizes of almost anything they offer. Their Lumi Lip products also come in different sizes as well. Great for getting to know a new line of products.

I received sample sizes of everything, except for the lippies (full size squeeze tubes). Their blushes, especially the Silk Radiances are super fine in texture and had a fair amount of color to them. The swatches look like they’d give a lot of shimmer but on my skin, it blended in well and looked more matte.

Lumiere Silk Radiance and Silk Blush:
- Be True: muted plum with gold shimmer
- Bare Beauty: nude-pink wih gold shimmer
- Sweet Cherub: nude-pink with brown undertone
- Cherry Blossom: muted cherry with pink/violet glimmer

The eye shadows I received came in an array of colors that were very fun and usable for me at the same time. When I swatched the shades, these seem to have a fair amount of color to them as well - which I like because then I know I can build the colors to my liking without spending too much time on it or end up looking like a clown.

My favorites are Gold Sparkle and Wicked. The Party Girl swatch looks a little bit like Neutral Pink from MAC’s N Collection but I’m not quite sure if it will look the same once applied.

Lumiere Eye Shadows & Shimmer:
- Gold Sparkle: true gold shade with lots of sparkle
- Party Girl: pink/violet with iridescent shimmer
- Lavender Pearl: pearl with lavender, opal sheen
- Wicked: plum with iridescent shimmer

More Lumiere Eye Shadows & Shimmer:
- Dark Chocolate: rich matte dark brown
- Bronzed Shimmer: bronze with copper shimmer
- Charmed: muted lavender
- Jackpot Glitz: coppery gold with shimmer

Lumiere’s Lumi Lip glosses appeared to be a bit thick when I swatched it on my hand, but on my lips they glide on and feel very lightweight. They’re also a bit sheerer on my lips as well - maybe I squeezed too much on my hand from the squeezie tube?
