Think Pixel Pink!
I’ll say it, I’m turning a new leaf this year and am branching out with lipsticks. That’s right, for years I’ve been a gloss kind of girl but 2008 is going to be my year for lipstick. And what better way to kick off my newfound interest in lipstick than with Lancôme’s fourth and final installment in their Pout-à-Porter series in Pixel Pink.
I know fans of this collection will be sad to know that Gucci Westman will be moving on from Lancôme and that this will be the last designer Pout-à-Porter collaboration for us beauty fanatics and collectors to enjoy. But don’t fret just yet, Ladies, because this shade is GORGEOUS! It may just be enough to get you through the days until the brilliant minds at Lancôme give you another great beauty find.
Pixel Pink is sheer raspberry shade that Westman created for Thakoon’s Spring 2008 Fashion Week show and all his models wore this color walking down the runway this past fall. His muse for this color was a young, modern Japanese women who leaves her life behind and escapes to Hawaii. Once there, she loses herself in the surf and sun. “Her makeup is very minimalist,” says Gucci. “I could see her dabbing this color on her lips to go with the tan and flushed cheeks she has from surfing all day.”
I’m no runway model, but even I feel a bit fabulous wearing this color! Lancôme Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Pixel Pink is super moisturizing, sheer with a flirty hint of color and is perfect for everyday wear. But if I were you, I’d save this bad boy for special occasions since it’s a limited edition shade that is sure to sell out quickly!
The wait lists are currently open for Pixel Pink ($24 US) and will be available exclusively at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Lancôme’s five U.S. boutiques and online.

Good for you for branching out. Lipglosses are great – just swipe it on and usually it looks great. Lipsticks usually need a lipbrush and sometimes a lip pencil. And depending on the formula, it can make your lips look dry, fake or just off.

I don’t know if this shade is out yet; from what I understand it should hit counters (barely!) by March.
This shade is definitely a nice, natural one with just a bit of POP! The Lancome lip duo that Vanessa and I share is just a touch on the brighter side. Although it’s still beautiful, Pixel Pink is one of those you can swipe and go – pretty low maintenance (which I like!).
Have you found any other pinks for spring that you like lately?

Hmmm… Pixel Pink is a nice color, but I much prefer Behnaz Red or PS Kiss for Peter Som (as you can tell, I’m a red kind of gal!). It is a nice color, though… Freeters are always the best fashion muses.
Ofcourse you’ll never be a runway model if you keep smiling like that! Models don’t smile! You need to look like you haven’t had adequate food or sleep for the past 5 days and feel dead inside!
I think Pout-a-Porter should be a permanent aspect of Lancome (though still LE) and should be more widely available.

I also like food too much. I used to be be skinny; not supermodel skinny, but size 4-6 skinny, a year or so ago. Then the food caught up with me. I see all of these skinny twiglets in fashion magazines and I really admire their willpower. You know I never met a Snickers bar I didn’t like.
Allegra Versace eating again? You know that’s just idle gossip! Seriously though, I really hope she does start eating. She seems like a sweet girl.
Now, if Donatella wants to stop eating, I’m all for that! Do it, Donatella!
