From the Runway: Baby Phat
The look for the Baby Phat fall/winter 2008 fashion show was inspired by the 1920s glamour with hair styled by Danilo in waves and pincurls. For makeup, Christopher Ardoff went with a Clara Bow/Josephine Baker/Billie Holiday effect – talk about bold elegance!
Like the Nicole Miller beauty look, we see the use of glitter on the eyes with grey glitter and red-orange matte lips on lighter models and burgundy glitter with deep burgundy-brown shades on the lips. Try MAC Reflects Glitter in Blackened Red on the eyes and Karen from Makeup and Beauty Blog does a wonderful tutorial of how to get the perfect dark lip.
Ardoff adds, “You do your base makeup after you do these eyes… Because the glitter gets all over you and you don’t wan it in your base – you want a nice, soft contrasting skin that does not reflect, so that only the eyes pop.”
It’s completely dramatic in a wonderful, classy way – kudos Kimora Lee Simmons! You are the ultimate symbol of fabulosity, I love it!

I’m loving the lips on the first model; they match the dress on the second model. I’m thinking Redd lip liner paired with Morange lipstick would achieve this look.

I like the red-orange on the blondie too, but I could never be confortable wearing that out. But I love the dress on the second model. Have you seen the pictures from the rest of the Baby Phat show? It’s all very Great Gatsby, super fun.
I can’t hate on Kimora any longer, she’s the ultimate in fabulousity and now I want to be like her!!
