From the Runway: Herve Leger
So far, the beauty look from the Herve Leger show is the most dramatic one I’ve seen – it was just so unexpected to see the uber pink lips down the runway, don’t you think??
Val Garland describes the Leger woman as “mean” and “severely sexy” in Herve Leger’s first stateside fashion show. For the show, Garland did a liquid eyelid in sparkly gold and a very chalky pink matte lip – from my personal collection I think that Masque from MAC’s McQueen collection just might do the trick.
“It’s wet vs. dry,” Garland described, and these contrasting textures are going to be huge for fall makeup trends. I’ll just sit back and watch because this is one that I don’t think I can pull off for myself.

Hmmm not a fan of the lips myself. I think the colour is just too severe for my skintone. Perhaps it would look better on someone with porcelain skin? The liquid gold sparkly eyeshadow sounds nice though! Great trend report, Nilla!

Hi Anna,
I wonder if we could find shades that would be complimentary to our skin tone. I always have the idea that anyone can pull off any look, it just needs to be with the right colors. We’ll see, I might try to attempt this if I’m feeling daring!
What have been your favorite runway looks this season?

Hey Lilan. I personally don’t like the colour of the lips =( It’s too light. It looks ugh.. LOL. I think Mac Masque lipstick is even better than that.
Btw, I got a new blogsite. It’s http://www.skosasih.blogspot.com
Thanks x

Hey Sandy,
How fun, you got a new site!
I think Masque lipstick will work on my skin tone to get this look. I don’t think I could do any lighter like the model though. And the feather bangs are pretty wild, don’t you think?
Hope you’re having a good day!

I think that Masque was a bit more subtle. I’m a bit put off by those Proenza Pink lips. What do you reckon they used to achieve that look? Cool The Cool Pink Chroma Cake? The Cool Pink Paint Stick? Pepto Bismol?

Dude, I think that they actually used pink chalk for the lips, must be tasty! Like Pepto Bismol! LOL
I’m so diggin’ the feather bangs too, like a crazy bird suffering from indigestion

I must confess this look does not excite me whatsoever…at least not on that particular model. I’m sure she’s gorgeous but can a pale person look any more pallied? But I suppose this is a runway look and the intention was to give more attention to her garments and not her makeup? And by gosh, how did I not notice her feather fringe, that is..uhmm… unusually wild! =)
Lilan maybe one of these days you can try and give the pink lips justice by posting your own FOTD?

Hi Lea,
I agree, how can anyone concentrate on her clothes when all I can stare at are her lips! And her featherhead….
I’m going to bring this photo in to the department store to see if I can find a lippie that’s similar for an FOTD. We’ll see if I am victorious!

Hey Lilan, I’m quite a big fan of the nude look this season. It’s refreshing after a lot of brights the past few spring seasons. I think the pale pink lipstick could work if it wasn’t so blue based. Maybe an ultra light nude or coral?

I actually like the blue undertones in the lipstick. A coral lip would be really pretty too – maybe we should try both looks!
I am diggin’ most of the runway looks so far since they look really translate-able to the regular woman.
