Bobbi Brown Nude Collection & FOTD
How can I resist another collection of Nudes after MAC’s N Collection? I don’t think I can. Really.
Bobbi’s Inspiration: The Nude Collection was inspired by color I see naturally in women’s faces. Nude makeup is pure genius because it’s easy to apply and it enhances the natural tones of your skin. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who loves a naturally sexy look.
The limited edition Nude Lip & Eye Palette ($60 US) featured in a two-tiered compact is definitely a must-have. It’s a great starter palette for all your basic makeup needs in a convenient compact (I think this one’s going in my permanent travel bag). It features four brand new, exclusive eye shadows and four lip colors (with one new shade as well).
Lip colors (from L to R): Brownie Pink, Cocoa, Beige, and Bare
Eye colors (from L to R): Bare, Naked, Nude (Shimmer Wash), and Buff (Shimmer Wash)
During my visit to the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom in the San Francisco Center, the makeup artist demonstrated Bobbi Brown’s philosophy of enhancing my natural features with just a little shadow on my lids to create a some dimension. Next, he gave my eyes a little bit of a pop with eyeliner on the lash line and finished with mascara.
The makeup artist also suggested choosing a cheek color that’s slightly brighter than your natural flush and applied it on the apples of my cheeks and brushed it downwards and out, not up the cheek bones.
For this lips, he applied two of the lip colors from the palette. His suggestion is to wear a color that is one shade darker than your natural lips to create a subtle-looking pout.
Face:
- SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer in Light Tint
- Tinted Eye Brightener in Medium
Eyes:
- Single Eye Shadow in Grey (used to fill brows)
- Naked from Nude Palette (lids)
- Nude Shimmer Wash from Nude Palette (crease)
- Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
- Everything Mascara in Black
Cheeks:
- Blush in Nectar
Lips:
- Beige from Nude Palette
- Brownie Pink from Nude Palette
Bobbi Brown has also created four new shades of Glitter Lip Gloss ($19 US) for all you gloss-girls everywhere! These skin tone-inspired shades infused with flecks of glitter give lips a polished and sophisticated look— the epitome of understated glamour.
Shades include: Almost Bare, Nude, Naked, and Buff

I LOVE the nude, barely there colors. They really complement my skin tone. I think Halle Berry wears colors like these well.

Hey Vanessa,
Isn’t the Bobbi Brown model amazingly gorgeous?? Her eyes are so mesmerizing!

Hey BGG,
I haven’t really tried the barely there colors before. Either I wear enough color to see it, or I go bare-faced. I never really knew how to master the really natural look before so the makeup artist’s tips were really helpful
Are you going to check out this collection, too?

Thanks so much, Mrs. Lynne!
You look really great with minimal makeup too – I remember the picture of you from the zoo!

Hi beautytalk -
I hope you try it out and let us know how it goes!
What are your favorite colors to wear?

I’m normally not on Team Bobbi but on you this looks so fab. Love the lips! You look so springy, like you should be running through a field of flowers or something with the wind in your hair!

Thank you, Miss Karen!
How come you’re not a Bobbi fan? A lot of people think the colors are kinda blah, but my boring self really likes them
Wouldn’t that be a sight – me running in a field of flowers!! I imagine it would be like that Estee Lauder Pleasures commercial, lol

Oh Lilan, don’t you wish we could just roll outta bed this way? Lol. I really like to fake the natural look but I’m starting to take longer to do it which is not a good thing since that is supposed to be the simplest look, hah.

Girl, you KNOW I roll outta bed lookin’ like that! LOL
In all seriousness, I wish I could get my eyebrows to look as good as he did them that day
Do you tweeze/wax your own brows?

Lilan, you look gorgeous! This is a lovely look.
On March 11th, 2008 Lilan said:
Aww thanks Muse!
At first I thought I looked kind of naked, but it grew on my and I really like the subtleness

Thank you Nina!
Are you more of a natural beauty girl, too? Or do you love wearing colors?
For me, I’m all about the basics most days, but it’s fun to play with makeup every so often
Hope you’re having a great day!

i tweeze and trim my brows. i want to wax my own but don’t have sally’s here and am just lazy to find a place that sells it. my aunt waxes her brows and they are sooo good looking! my brows in naked form are so weird. like one is darker than another because there seems to be more hairs bunched together on one.
On March 11th, 2008 Lilan said:
I tweeze to maintain and then get them waxed every so often to really give them a good shape.
My bare brows are kinda whack too – super thin so I need to fill in the patches
On March 13th, 2008 Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said:
Ok, I thought I was the only one that had some blankness in my brows also. Now I feel much better.
I’ve had my brows waxed once and I would love to get them done regularly. But seriously, I’ll spend money on MAC but won’t give in to spending money regularly for any upkeep on things I think I can do myself. I’m just one of those weird penny pinchers, lol.
On March 13th, 2008 Lilan said:
Yeah, my brows are super thin – my hair is the same way too, really fine and thin
I don’t get my brows waxed too regularly either. Only when they get really unruly. I’m just not a good tweezer. I have a friend who has amazing brows, she does them herself! So envious (jerk) – LOL
On March 13th, 2008 Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said:
I can get kind of anal in tweezing. Sometimes I want to grow them out and just strictly wax them, but then again, I want to do the waxing myself. But you know how laziness kicks in and then the tweezers are just more convenient, lol.
On March 14th, 2008 Lilan said:
Dang girl, you’ve got some skills if you can wax your brows yourself. Knowing me, I’d wax them both off! LOL
On March 14th, 2008 Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said:
Oh girl. I don’t know how to wax my eyebrows, lol. I don’t know about shaping them until I get comfy, but I can sure wax off the extras that have nothing to do with the arch, lol.
