Let’s Play Tag!
I’ve been bad and have been tagged twice already. It’s just been so hectic with me being out of town – I have soo many entries I’m working on so bare with me while I catch up!
The first tag was from Mrs. Lynne over at MakeupFIX – Name my 5 Must-NOT Have items:
1. St. Ives Apricot Scrub – Who in their right mind would want to use this on their face? The particles in the scrub are so big and coarse, it’s like rubbing rocks on you delicate face. Bionic Beauty has a great suggestion for those of you who’ve purchased this and it’s just sitting in the back of your medicine closet – use it to exfoliate your hands or feet.
2. Generic Cotton Swabs – I don’t care if anyone thinks I’m a snob, anything I’ve ever used to clean my ears or touch up makeup that’s not the true Q-Tips brand really sucks. There’s not enough cotton therefore making it scratchy and just plain yucky – ’nuff said.
3. Regular Chapstick – It’s waxy and cake-y to me. Yes, it may be an inexpensive necessity but I firmly believe you can spend the same amount and get Blistex DCT (my favorite!), it works so much better!
4. skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream – I think a lot of you read my review of this moisturizer. It just didn’t do anything for me and for $75 a pop, I’m putting it on my Must-Not list.
5. Toothpaste with Baking Soda – Everytime I read ‘Baking Soda’ on the box of a new toothpaste, I steer clear. I tried one of these formulas a long time ago and it just tastes weird, kinda salty and the consistency was off and didn’t have a nice foam like other toothpastes do. I know this is probably just weird of me, but I hate toothpaste with baking soda in it.
The second tag was from one of my favorite East Coast beauty bloggers, Kia from Yummy 411: List my 5 Biggest Makeup Crimes:
1. Just like Miss Kia, I often go to bed without washing my face. Okay fine, not often – more like all the time.. 99.7% of the time!
2. Not wearing eye cream on the regular. I’m so fearful of wrinkles, you’d think I’d be all over this, but I’m not.
3. I don’t floss everyday like my dentist tells me to. You’re supposed to floss twice a day to keep your pearly whites healthy. I only get around to this maybe 3 times a week. Yes, it’s bad

4. One thing that I’ve been really, really trying to get better at is moisturizing my arms and legs right after I shower. I have dry, but not overly dry, skin so I forget to put on lotion. It’s better to do it right after you get out of the shower since I find it soaks up and retains more moisture for my epidermis.
5. And finally, my biggest beauty crime is not drinking as much water as I know I should be throughout the day.
I’m going to tag: Bionic Beauty, Jamie of The Beauty of Life, Sugar Shock, Nina of The Daily Obsession, and Toya of The Life of a Ladybug. Ladies, please feel free to post either or both! Looking forward to seeing your answers

How fun! I love the must-NOT haves and pretty much agree with all of these! Hadn’t tried the skyn moisturizer but if it’s near as bad as, say, chapstick, I won’t bother.

Hi Kiss Kiss Beauty,
Thanks so much for stopping by!
What are your personal 5 must-not have products?
Hope you’re having a good week so far!

Nice list Lilan!
I actually like scrubbing rocks on my face, lol. I think I was so brainwashed about understanding oily skin that my impression of getting rid of the oil, was to scrub your face dry. And to do so, you need the hardest stuff ever, lol. I’m actually using the Renew & Firm line of the Apricot Scrub and there’s actually more cream than the actual scrub particles itself.
Oh, I’m such a Q-Tip snob also! I like the actual cardboard handle applicator compared to those wimpy plastic ones. Those are just boo-boo! A good generic one that I found that is pretty satisfying next to Q-Tip are the Equate ones at Wal-Mart. I think the cotton part is just a tad (barely noticeable to me) smaller, but I’ve found comfort in them. Especially for $2 or something! Good Q-Tip dupe, lol.
And I HATE baking soda toothpaste!! That is Nasty!! Oh, and the Whitening Listerine, DO NOT EVER BUY THAT UNLESS YOU’RE FOND OF GAGGING!! (should have added that to my list – just thought of it right now, lol).
Oh, and took a belly bump to get me committed to water gulping, hah.

Hi Mrs. Lynne,
You know, I’m pretty traumatized from the Apricot Scrub, I don’t think I can try the one you use – too scared! LOL
I actually just use philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel every couple of weeks and it works for me – costs a lot, but it works! We’ll see if I ever go back to St. Ives
Now that you mention it, I think there is a suitable dupe for Q-Tips that I’ve used before. I can’t remember if it’s the brand you mentioned, but since I don’t have a Wal-Mart near me, I’ll just have to continue using my Q-Tips from Target
Thanks for the Listerine tip, girl! I’m gonna stay far, far away!
How’s your Thursday? I think I’m coming down with something, my throat’s scratchy and my nose is runny – gross

LOL, Josi!
You know I’m going to wake up one day when less than desirable skin. It’ll be my punishment, I just know it! And when that day happens, what do you recommend to treat pimples? I have a bad habit of scratching or popping

Lilan, Thanks for tagging me!
I love your lists, and will get mine up this week. A few comments up, you mentioned being traumatized by the St. Ives scrub, me too! This past time, I even used the “Sensitive Skin” addition to their line – ouch.
Anyhow, hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Hi Lilan, thanks for the tag! Hehe. I’ve never gotten one of those before. Here are my 5 biggest beauty crimes:
1. Forgetting to wash off my eye makeup
2. Not getting pedicures regularly. Bleh, feet!
3. Forgetting to floss
4. Not wearing a moisturizer with SPF or sunscreen
5. Forgetting to lotion up before bed
So, basically a lot of forgetting to do things that I know I should! And my top 5 must-NOT haves:
1. Urban Decay eyeshadows: don’t like the texture or pigments
2. Pink Sugar perfume: it’s just too much! the scent is way too overpowering
3. Bliss body butters: too overpriced and not that moisturizing
4. generic q-tips! you’re totally right, they just don’t work!
5. Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners: yes, they smell great, but are sooo harsh on my hair.

Hi Nina,
Thanks so much for playing!
I WISH I could get regular pedi’s too! Sometimes it gets costly, but mostly I’m just too lazy
I’ve never tried Pink Sugar perfume, but just from the name, it sounds too sweet for me.
