MAC Beauty Powders Make Me Blush!
I’ve been saying for quite a while now about how I need to beef up my blush collection. Especially now since spring and summer are approaching, I need fresh colors to brighten up my face!
MAC knew just what I needed and released their new Beauty Powder Blush collection just for me - okay, not exclusively for me, but you know how MAC just magically comes to the rescue at the right time, kinda like Spider Man!
These beauty powders come in eight limited edition shades and the collection also includes one limited edition Angled Blush Brush #169.
I’m really enjoying the textures of the beauty powders - they’re silky and fine. One thing I noticed is that they’re also pretty pigmented. Just one swipe gave me so much color, I had to blend some of it out so that I wouldn’t look like a clown. I’d apply with a light hand if I were you.
The four colors I have are:
Joyous, a peachy pink with gold pearl
Serenely, a rusty shade with gold pearl
Sweetness, a bright blue-pink
True Romance, a mid-tone pink with silver pearl
Additional colors in the Beauty Powder collection include:
Eversun, Neutral peach bronze with gold
Feeling, Dirty plum with silver pearl
Secret Blush, Dirty neutral plum with gold pearl
Shy Beauty, Pastel apricot with gold pearl
Today’s FOTD was pretty simple, I wanted to just focus on the cheeks and lips.
Eyes:
- Shadestick in Beige-ing
- Remotely Grey (lid)
- Neutral Pink (crease)
- Modest Tone (highlight)
- Technakohl in Black
- Plushlash in Black
Cheeks:
- Beauty Powder in Joyous
Lips:
- Utterly Frivolous lipstick
- Sugar Trance lipglass

Lilan, we got the same blushes! How odd.
I just read a review elsewhere (a lesser blog) and it said how subtle these were. I suspect she hadn’t actually tried them, ’cause I found them super-pigmented, too! I wasn’t expecting that, since the BeautyPowders I have experienced were quite subtle! When I swept one of these on, I was astounded at the strength!
Great review!

I KNOW I totally need blush too! It’s like one day I looked at a picture of myself and I had these clown cheeks…oh no!
I love how you test all the colors on your hand or wrist….(may have to copy you if you don’t mind…..lol)
You have a great site girl!

Blush is beautiful on you, sis! I surprised at how pigmented they are. I’ve never tried MAC blushes (definitely a NARS girl) but maybe I’ll cop one or two.
Or more.
Hehehe…..enjoy your Thursday!

How’s your day going? Hopefully good! I can’t wait to see my family this weekend when I’m in Orange county!

Hey Jen,
Do you like these beauty powders in comparison to the other ones? I’ve never used MAC’s beauty powders before.
I really like how soft the textures of the colors are. Today I’m wearing True Romance!

Hi Josi!
Hope you’re having a great day so far
I actually really love to swatch colors - it’s helpful for me to reference the colors, especially if I haven’t worn it in a while. It’s also nice to see what the colors look like on my skin vs. in the pan.
Sweetness looked really bright, but when I swatched it, I think it’ll be a nice color for me to wear this season - I can’t wait! You should definitely do it too!!!

Good morning, Brttany!
Thanks so much, sis! I was pretty surprised at how pigmented they are too. The only MAC blush I had for the longest time was Peachykeen. I really love that color, you should check it out!
Then Fafi came along and I picked up Hipness. And now the Beauty Powders. Definitely go check them out if you can, I’m lovin’ the texture of these babies!!

Hi beautytalk,
I hope you pick a couple of them up! But if you have to get just one, my favorite of this bunch is Joyous. It’s so fresh and sassy for spring.
Let us know what you get!

Hi Glosslizard,
It’s nice to see you over here! Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a note
I’m having a great day, hoping the sun will come out just a little bit more. But you know I’ll take anything compared to the gloomy mist from this morning. That’s SF for ya
Hope you’re having a fun day too!

Thanks for the swatches! How do you think Joyous compare to Hipness in terms of color/texture? They look pretty similar in the pics!

I was actually a little curious about the two as well! I’ll swatch Joyous and Hipness tonight and will let you know
Hope you’re having a fun day - any plans for the weekend?

Hi evo,
Isn’t Sweetness so fun? I really love the pink - it’s going to be perfect for summertime with a light grey smokey eye. I want to try that combo next
What other colors were you thinking of getting?

Going good so far. Of course, when I finally find peace in the bathroom to drop off The Browns, the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to my door right when baby was crying and proceeded to read me scriptures. But turns out they were nice people aside from religion, hah
How is yours going? When do you hear the results from Glam?
On March 13th, 2008 Lilan said:
Thanks Jamie!
It’s really a great color, I love it. Have you tried them yet? This is my first time with the beauty powders and I think they’re so lovely!!
Happy Thursday, hope you’re having a good one!
On March 13th, 2008 Lilan said:
LOL, you’re so hilarious - I was like “Who are The Browns??” LMAO
Mine’s goin’ okay - I just got my hair cut and I’m just getting used to it. Be ready for a post soon girl!
I’m not sure when I’ll hear back from Glam but it’s really just great to be in good company with the other bloggers!

Hubbo might be changing his vaca (again!) so I’ll have to see when I can get my hair done. I’m waiting oh sooo patiently, lol.

You know I’ll rock the red lips with my new ‘do!
I’ve got my red lippie packed away in my luggage for this weekend - a night on the town! woo hoo!
Hey, if Hubbo takes vaca time, does this mean you guys are going on a trip?
On March 14th, 2008 Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said:
Oh I wish we were. But it’s too expensive for us to fly outta here. Plus, that means we’d have to worry about vacation expenses. But if he takes vaca, then at least I have his help around the house and that means he’ll be able to watch the tykes so I can get my a haircut, lol.
