My First Encounter with Vichy
From what I hear, Vichy is a brand that’s well-known in Europe. Now, they’ve finally made their way to the States for us to try.
I recently samples a few items from Vichy – Detoxifying Rinse-off Foam Cleanser ($15 US), LiftActiv PRO Eyes Anti-Wrinkle Eyelid Lifting Care ($30 US) and Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care ($17 US). Overall, they didn’t rock my world, but they certainly have their ups for the budget-conscious.
At $15 for a 4.2oz size, the foam cleanser is a good value. It’s light and feathery in texture, lathers well and gets the job done. The formula is a little drying for my face – I hear that foam cleansers tend to be. If you have oilier skin, this could be perfect for you!
I also really enjoyed the eye cream. The consistency is nice and creamy, not too thick. I’m not too savvy on whether or not eye creams work, but if I don’t see any wrinkles forming, then it must be doing what it’s supposed to right? A sales associate at the Estee Lauder counter told me recently that eye creams or anything else that you put around your eye should be applied with your ring finger. The skin around the eyes are thinner than other parts of your face and the ring finger gives the least amount of pressure and tugging compared to your index or middle finger – the other common fingers we use to apply makeup and skincare.
Of the three products I tried, my least favorite was the Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care. The website describes it as a moisturizer, but I didn’t find it moisturizing. It applied on similar to a serum, dried quickly and left white, ashy splotches on my face. I had to apply my regular moisturizer over it to properly moisturize before putting on my makeup.
Have you tried Vichy? What are your thoughts? To find a location that sells Vichy near you, check out their website.
This weekend I’m going to take it easy and try to get over this cold – it must be hypersensitive allergies or something now that spring has officially arrived! I can’t stop blowing my nose. What are you up to this weekend?

Haven’t heard of Vichey but have recentley heard about
Cellex-C Age Less 15. I did a little research and the concept seems logical but does it really work? Quite pricey. Any info?

Hi Susie,
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I’ve never heard of this either – I think I’ll spend some time researching too. Skin signaling sounds interesting. What did you think about it?
Hope you’re having a good weekend so far!

I’m trying out Vichy for the first time right now. I heard their Norma Derm line is pretty good, since I have combo oily skin, I have high hopes for this line. I love the smell of all of their product, it’s so refreshing, but I also know they are not supposed to have so much perfume in the product since they say they are safe for sensitive skin.
Feel better soon!

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Let us know what you think of Vichy. The only product I had to give a thumbs down to was the Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care from the NormaDerm line. The consistency on my skin was off, weird, white and splotchy – not cute
Thanks for the well wishes, I’m actually feeling a lot better!
Hope to chat with you again soon!

I live in Europe and have been using Vichy creams for the past 10+ years. They are only sold in pharmacies (I don’t know why), and their price is indeed surprisingly modest (they are NOT exactly cheap) for their extraordinary quality.
I have – well, HAD – jars of skin creams from almost every skincare company (including Dior – how silly!) sitting around my bathroom forever, half-used. Vichy products never had the time to linger around. I scrape every little bit out of the jars, including around the lid – not out of economy, but because they simply feel too precious to waste.
Having said that, I have noticed that choosing JUST the right one can be even trickier than with other brands. You just have to try them (thank God for samples!
regardless of what the pharmacist – or even their catalog – tells you.
It was totally wonderful, the best I’ve used in many years – or ever.
For example, there was a totally wonderful cream called NOVADIOL, which was marketed (discreetly, of course) as being for women “over fifty”, against sagging. I was nowhere fifty, but figured that it contained some hormone-activating ingredient (i did: soy and other flavonoids), which – I kept on figuring – might help my skin to be firmer (I have no wrinkles, so I had no use for their many anti-wrinkle creams). So I tried it, even though the pharmacist tried to convince me it wasn’t for me. Well, guess which one of us was right…?
Unfortunately, they thought of “improving” it – Vichy does that A LOT, it’s my one complaint about them! – and launched a “new and improved version called NEOVADIOL. While I hear it’s very popular, I thought the older version was much better for me, so I stocked on it… (: But I am sure I”ll eventually find a worthy replacement.
So, naturally I am surprised that they seem to be unknown in then USA.
I hope you like them!
I know I do.

Oh, and BTW: in case anyone is interested, I hear that their new anti-cellulite creams are insanely effective. Just a few days ago I heard from a woman that it cut her cellulite by two thirds in a few weeks.
(I DO have cellulite myself, just don’t fell like bothering with it.
I know this may sound as if I were paid to advertise for them, but… well, I am NOT.
I hope t works for anyone here who might want to try it.
)
(And if not, just try water infused with birch leaves and/or ground coffee. Just not together.
