Chicago Chic!
It’s Day 2 in Chicago for me and I gotta say, it’s really fun to see some old faces again and hang out in the city last night.

Our Glam event was held at the Victor Hotel in the meat packing district. Can you imagine my confusion as we drove up to a dodgey neighborhood, only to walk into this dimly lit space that was oh-so-chic and glam – very Sex and the City!!! The h’orderves were fun, a fresh bruschetta of tomato and peppers on crispy toasted baguette slices, mini goat cheese and green pepper sandwiches, sushi rolls and chocolate covered strawberries and green apples! I also had a couple of “Glam”-tinis, a delicious vodka concoction with cranberry and mango juices – YUM!
After the event, fellow Glam-ers and I went to grab a bite to eat at Quartino. They serve delicious Italian tapas! We had some of the best gnocchi ever, margherita pizza, and bruschette. Everything was delicious and satisfying – the atmosphere is loud and crazy, definitely a fun late-night place.
When the night was all over, here’s what I got to come home to – a very cute hotel room that doesn’t feel like a hotel room at all! I wish my house looked as good – it will someday!

How’s your weekend going? Any plans for fun?

I was actually already tagged for that one, but I haven’t had a chance to do my post yet – eek!

Hi Nina!
Quartino was definitely a fun spot to check out – aren’t their eggplant bruschette to die for? It was the highlight of everything we ate that night
What are your other favorite eateries in the city?
Glad to hear that you’re in Chicago now, it seems like such a wonderful city. Where were you before?

Hi Lilan! I moved to Chicago from NYC a few months ago. It’s definitely a change; I’m not used to such cold weather! Thank goodness it’s finally starting to get a bit warmer.
Hmm, favorite places to eat… My favorite place for hot dogs in Chicago is Portillo’s. I’d actually never had a Chicago-style hot dog before that. I love D’Agostino’s for thin crust pizza, Arun for Thai food (but expensive), and Gibson’s for steak
It looks like you had an amazing time on your trip, yay!

Hi Roxy,
The trip was really fun – the weekend was definitely too short
Where are your favorite places to travel?

Hi Nina!
Are you an NYC native? Did you make the move for work? I hear that summers in Chicago are supposed to be humid but really nice too!
Next time I’m in Chicago, I’m going to check out Portillo’s – we still didn’t really get to experience Chicago-style dogs and you bet I want to get my little hands on one!
We wanted to try a steakhouse but there just weren’t enough meals in the day! Have you tried Keefer’s? That’s where we were thinking of going before we discovered Moto!
