MAC Spring/Summer 2008 Trends

With the new season upon us, beauty powerhouse MAC shows us what the biggest spring and summer trends are – inspired from the runways of Fashion Week.

Trend: Neo-Dynamic – Contouring and face sculpting are big this season, allowing women to remodel, restructure, and revise the proportions of the face.

See this look at Haider Ackermann, Rodarte, Ann Demeulemeester, and Gareth Pugh.

Trend: Flash Metal – A key summer look as rich metals meet shoreline shades through sand-washed tones of taupe through platinum shell pinks, creams, pebble beiges, and sunset golds.

See this look at Rosa Cha, Monique L’huillier, Mario Schwab, and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Trend: Alabaster – A sparse, albino-esque edge that white brings to makeup feels purer than colors. It’s luminous, gives skin a translucent wattage to give pureness and modernity to any makeup design.

See this look at Vivienne Westwood and Rick Owens.

mac-slated.jpg

Trend: Slated – Gray is the newest comeback color. Pale up pewters and nickels to dirty charcoals this season. It’s essentially this season’s spin on the smoky eye.

See this look on the runway at Luca Luca.

Trend: Acrylic – It looks like brights from the 80s are making a comeback, from laminate-bright lips to eyes popping in tropical shadows. The message says too much is never enough when it comes to exploring color this season.

See this look at Todd Lynn, Loud Mouth, and Dice Kayek.
