Get Out of This World with MAC Solar Field

solar-field-promo-pic.jpg

MAC launched Solar Field in conjunction with Neo Sci-Fi, a collection that introduces a fun new product for MAC lovers everywhere. Two words. Solar Bits.

Solar Bits ($19.50 US) are awesome for folks like me who would like to wear pigments, but are dummies when it comes to application. You know what I’m talking about, pigment powder everywhere on your face, hands, clothes, you name it – I’ve gotten pigment on it.

This new form of pigment comes in little cream clusters that you can pick up with your brush and apply onto to your eye lids, patting the clusters so that they break apart on your eyelids. You can pat the clusters to create a more textured look, or use a blending brush to blend out the clusters to make the finished effect look more like traditional, powdered eye shadow. How you play with these solar bits is totally up to you, which is what makes this brand new product from MAC so interesting and fun!

The colors that released with Solar Field complement Neo Sci-Fi nicely, with beautiful shimmering golds and bronzes.

Here’s an FOTD using Neo Sci-Fi and Solar Field that Bradley from the Stonestown MAC counter did on me yesterday while I was scoping out the new goodies:

So what do you think about these new MAC Solar Bits? The next big thing? A huge miss? Prefer traditional powder shadows? I can only imagine that MAC is going to release Solar Bits in new shades to really see how these are accepted by the masses. My guess is it’s going to be a hit – when I stopped by Nordstrom last night, Black Ore was already sold out!
