How Convenient is Pro-To-Go?
I know we all lead busy lives full of corporate careers, running your own business, and being super Mom (or Dad) 24 hours a day. So if AVON marketed a lipstick that you could essentially apply with one hand – open, apply and close, all in one motion – would you go for it?
Needless to say, AVON has come out with Pro-To-Go, a capless lippie, and I will say that I’m certainly intrigued by the concept. Looking at it reminds me of those retractable erasers I used to have in math class while figuring out the value of n.
With the flick of the thumb, the lipstick pops out. And just as easily as I was able to take it out, apply the lipstick and put it away, I’m not sure it saved me that much time when all is said and done. I mean, I can’t remember the last time I lost a lipstick cap, can you?
Aside from that, AVON has been a brand that I’ve been wanting to get into for a while now. I mean, Reese Witherspoon is one of their spokespeople and she’s GORGEOUS! Who wouldn’t want to try what the girl is endorsing??
I gave Berry Juicy a test run and came back with mixed feelings about it. The color is a fun and brighter pink – super hot for those days you just want to exude sass and get noticed. On the other hand, the formula is less than stellar for me. When I applied and tried to blot my lips together, it sort of ran off one lip and onto the other. Because of this, it made me nervous that it was going to smear all over my lips if I wasn’t careful. It’s also not extremely long lasting and I found it necessary to reapply often.
Overall, Pro-To-Go was definitely fun to try for it’s click-n-go concept. But if you’re looking for a real, quality lippie to fall in love with, you may want to consider saving your hard earned cash – but that’s just my two cents.

I actually have had lipstick lids pop off! I was looking in my purse yesterday morning and I noticed that my Slimshine’s lid had slipped off! Aiyee! And I had a Shiseido lip balm that I bought in Japan… its cap came off and the whole thing got gouged out and smashed up in my bag. So sadly, it does happen… to me, anyway.
Those are pretty colors, but yeah, I can see what you mean about the formula. Thanks for the tip!

Beautiful color. I don’t usually lose my cap, but I do lose the lipstick. I am one of those that creates a pointed lipstick that then falls off.

Hey Jeanne!
Sorry to hear that you’ve run into a couple of mishaps with your lipstick caps! You know what’s funny, sometimes when I buy lippies, I keep them in the boxes – even in my purse! LOL Maybe that’s why I don’t lose my caps often

Hi Girl-Woman,
If only they could invent a lose-proof lipstick! Now that would be something worth getting for sure!
Do you have any favorite, yet quirky beauty products like this one?
Hope you’re having a great Friday!

Hi Beautytalk,
Isn’t it really pretty? Do you have a favorite hot pink hue for summer?
Happy Friday!

Yup, that’s pretty convenient! I remember Jane used to sell something very similar about 10 years back, but I’m not sure if they still carry it. :-/

Hi Erin,
Is the Berry shade pretty?? I haven’t tried Mark by Avon, but I definitely want to get my hands on a couple of their products. Is there a particular product from Mark that you’re eying?
Thanks again for stopping by and hope you had a great weekend!

Hi Nikki!
That’s too bad that the Pro-To-Go isn’t available in Manila. But I have to say, you guys have a lot of fun products there that we don’t have here
You can always order the Avon stuff online, ya? Let me know what your thoughts on these are – I’d love to hear!
Hope you had a great Mother’s Day today, girl!

Hi Mandy,
Happy Sunday!
Even though I wasn’t really diggin’ this lippie, every time I see Reese Witherspoon skip down the street with her Pro-To-Go I want to give it another go. Amazing how marketing really works huh?
Did you have a good weekend? I went to the shu store and then had Mother’s Day dinner with the family

Oh Mandy don’t be upset with me when I write my post from my trip to the shu store!! That place is complete heaven – I promise I won’t take for granted the fact that I have a shu store close to me here in SF and in my hometown in Orange County

I never knew about the Jane product like this, but Bonnebell has been making “flip gloss” for at least 13 years. I loved those when I was a kid. Maybe this is the grown-up version?

Hi Jenna,
Thanks for stopping by! I do agree that Avon Pro-to-Go is marketed to an older audience – but those Bonne Bell ones are certainly cute as well! Good thing is – they are around the same price point
Hope you’re having a great day!

Hi judy,
I totally agree that a product like this is so convenient for those times where our hands are so full but we still gotta look good!
