Memorial Day Mani w/ China Glaze Sacred Heart
Inspired from the swatches I saw on All Lacquered Up and Makeup and Beauty Blog, I decided to give myself a Memorial Day manicure in China Glaze’s Sacred Heart, a pretty tomato red from their new INK collection for summer.
I don’t normally wear bright colors on my nails; I’m usually a dark, vampy red or sheer nails kinda gal, but lately I’ve been feeling experimental. Yes, I realize this tomato red is not a stretch by any means but it’s all about baby steps! The rest of China Glaze’s INK collection is full of vibrant colors that I can’t wait to try.
The entire INK collection includes (from left to right):
Sacred Heart Neon Red
Blue Sparrow Neon Blue with Glitter
Rose Among Thorns Neon Fuschia
Flying Dragon Neon Purple with Pink and Blue Glitter
Japanese Koi Neon Coral
Celtic Sun Neon Yellow
I think for my next mani, I’m going to channel the high school sophomore in me and rock Flying Dragon on my nails and toes – what do you think? Is this INK collection inspiring you to rock the brilliant colors?
Today I’m heading out to the movies to check out Robert Downey, Jr. in Iron Man with the Boyfriend. Hope you’ve got fun Memorial Day plans as well!

Woah! It looks incredibly shiny!
I totally love Japanese Koi and Rose Among Thorns; Celtic sun is a bit too much yellow for my taste, though!

Hi Critty,
Happy Memorial Day! This polish was actually not shiny until I put a layer of top coat on it. Without it, it’s kind of matte and dull – definitely a texture that I wasn’t used to.
I hope you check it out though, all the colors are really pretty!

Hi Eru,
I agree, Celtic Sun is too bright for my taste. I think that Rose Among Thorns will be a great, sassy color to rock for summers on the beach – or wishing I were on the beach
What are you wearing on your nails today?

Hi Nikki,
I’ve been on a real nail polish kick lately. I bought a couple of Essie colors and OPI from the India Summer collection. It’s HOT! Can’t wait to show you more of my summer time manis
What’s your favorite color to wear right now?

Hiya Kia!
Happy Memorial Day! These are my first China Glaze polishes and I really like them so far
I gotta find me a pretty pale purple like what you were rockin’ at the summit!

i’m loving nail art..but If i want to sport a regular color, i would go for ANY color!!! as long as it’s as shiny as this one !!!!

Dude, that color looks so great on you. And what camera are you using because I couldn’t capture Flying Dragon’s purple-ocity as well as you. Oh and expect to use two layers of top coat over Flying Dragon because it dries really gritty, the downside of all that glitter.

Hi Nikki,
You’re a bold nail color gal, I see! What are your favorite polish brands? I really like the variety of colors of OPI, although I’m not sure if the formula is any or much better than most

Hi Miss All Lacquered Up!
I took the photo in my bathroom with my Canon SD750 so I’m glad the colors came out well
I can’t wait to try Flying Dragon, although I’m scared of the amount of glitter that’s in it. It doesn’t look as glittery as you say in the bottle. I guess we’ll see!
Thanks for stopping by!
