Cooling Off in SF with MAC Cool Heat
MAC’s new Cool Heat collection offers pops of color to complement your traditional summer sun-kissed and bronze looks perfectly when you’re looking to command attention or exude a little sass. Look for Cool Heat to heat up your makeup bag with 7 eye shadows and 5 new Slimshine lipsticks.
On Saturday, my friends and I went to Crissy Fields to hang out and enjoy an afternoon in the hot sun. Using some new goodies from Cool Heat collection (on counters this week!), I decided to cool down my look with fresh blues and greens for the eyes paired with a shimmery pink lip. Here’s how I got the look:
Eyes:
- MAC Paint Pot in Cash Flow, Fafi, (lid, upper half)
- MAC Paint Pot in Painterly (lid, lower half)
- MAC e/s in Warm Chill, Cool Heat, (all over lower lid)
- MAC e/s in Parrot, Originals, (outer V and crease)
- MAC Fluidline in Royal Wink (upper lashline)
- MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee (lower waterline)
- Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara in Black
Cheeks:
- Rimmel Blush in Cool Down
Lips:
- Prescriptives Lip Pencil in Almost Nude
- MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Tropic Glow, Cool Heat
My favorites from this collection are Warm Chill, a soft seafoam green that’s surprising subtle compared to what I saw in the pot. I think I can use this for a few different looks - I’m already itching to use it in a combo for a smoky, navy eye I want to sport to work tomorrow. I’ll kep you posted on that FOTD, for sure!
For the lips, I really love Tropic Glow. As a fan of pink lippies, this one has blue undertones with lots of shimmer that I like for summer. I also forgot how much I like Slimshines! They’re ultra-moisturizing and a perfect cross between gloss and lipstick. For all you gloss addicts out there, this is an easy transition to lipstick!
What do you think of MAC’s new Cool Heat collection? Is there a must-have for you in this bunch?

Beautiful lippie! And I love the blue liner on the lid. How did you like this collection overall?

I like this look - it’s great for summer. Blue is back! I like Cash Flow as a base here - I love the Fafi paint pots.

love the blue peep liner! i got blue pop/black fun i think it’s called from the heatherette collection because it reminded me of blue peep in a much more useable form.. a pencil!

Hi Brittany!
I love the lippie too, pinks are my fave
Overall, Cool Heat has fun colors if you like blues. The only one I really like is the dark navy one, Blue Flame. The real standouts are the lippies - if you’re a coral lip girl, check out 90s high. I know you said oranges don’t look good on brown girls, but give it a try! It’s much softer and subtler than Electro.
Happy Monday to you!

Hi Laurie,
Aren’t the Fafi paint pots awesome?! I definitely appreciate that the blues are back, but this collection has a little too much blue for me. Although I’m falling pretty hard for Blue Flame - navy is super versatile for me any time of year!
What are you feelin’ from Cool Heat?? Anything stand out for you?

Hey Kia!
I had a couple of the double sided liners from Heatherette too, but when I tried the gold/brown one, it was just too soft for me so I returned the blue one I got
Have you used it? What do you think of the double sided pencils?
Hope you’re having a good one!

I love this look! The lippie is gorgeous and the wash of color over your eyelids is so pretty.
FYI — I tagged you today. Check out my blog for the details!

Thanks Mrs. Lynne!
I could have a zillion pink lippies and it still wouldn’t be enough, I think. I just got another Chanel Glossimer that I can’t wait to share with you
I love that you do a lot of different lip colors on yourself, but the nudes are my favorite!!

Omg, Lilan. I would totally pop nudes with every look! Which is why I’m ALWAYS reaching for my Bare Slimshine! But sometimes it makes me feel uncreative, lol.

OMG, I love the slimshine I was wearing with this FOTD!! It’s in my purse right now and I like how it’s just so glossy - feels nice on the lips
What did you do over the weekend? I’m totally dying at the office right now. Thankfully the day is almost over!

Since Hubbo had all last week off we did some needed unwinding. We took the boys to the beach and the aquarium (which is sooo small compared to Monterey Bay!) and just hung out. It was very nice.
How about you? What did you and the bf do? Omg, did you watch America’s Best Dance Crew? Did you see that Soul something group?.. I think this season will be very good also.

Sounds like you guys had a nice weekend! We just went to Crissy Fields with some friends on Saturday and hung out for a bit and had a mini picnic.
Yesterday was very chill - watched ABDC on TV all day yesterday. The BF is addicted already!! I don’t know all their names yet, but I’m diggin the SF crew and I think another one from the Midwest??

I have no idea where Crissy Fields is. But sounds fun. I don’t do picnics always but it sure is a great way to slow down and relax.
I think it is the SF one that I’m talking about. At first when I saw them, I totally thought their style was like the Jabbawockees just without the masks. But at least someone is reppen’ the bay for us! YAY! And I already know that Hubbo is practicing his dance moves. Kabba Modern is going to be performing here on the islands. We have a dance competition going on here and the winner will go against them. I totally want to go and check it out, hah!

Wow, how fun that Kaba Modern is coming to Hawaii! I hope you get to see them - let me know how they are in person! When are they supposed to come?
I love that they are from Orange County (like me!) and this time there’s a good time from where I live now!!

I’m glad to see blue shadow making a comeback, though I must admit, MAC hasn’t had a really eyecatching collection for a while IMO.

Hey Mandy!
Ya blues are definitely fun but I can’t see myself sporting these colors on the regular. Which is why I have to agree that this collection isn’t as exciting to me. What I do love are these Slimshines though. Is there a color in this set that catches your eye?
Hope you’re having a good Monday, girl!
