Get the Look: Julianne Moore’s Glowing Cheeks

It’s been pretty hot in San Francisco this past week and when it’s so warm outside, I hate it when my makeup looks like it’s melting off my face. So if you’re like me, you’ll want to keep it as minimal as possible while still looking fresh and completely radiant.

Keep your makeup light and beautiful by playing down your eyes and lips with neutral colors and really turning up the volume on your cheeks for that ultimate sun-kissed look.

Try a cream blush like Redpoint Airbrush Effects Blushwhip in Glow ($28 US) for a more vibrant color that’ll give you a pretty, dewy complexion.

Since Airbrush Effects Blushwhip is mousse-like in texture vs. a cream-solid like my Lancôme Color Design Blush I like to apply this using my fingers to start. Dab a little of this lightly shimmery peachy-pink shade onto the apples of your cheeks every where you want some color. I like to use a brush like my Lumiere Duo Fiber Optic blush brush (it’s a MAC 187 dupe!) to blend out the color so that it doesn’t look like clownish cheek stains.

This is my favorite go-to look to beat the heat; what are your favorite minimalist makeup tips for summer?

The boyfriend is finally out with his buddies and taking their golf lessons that I bought them for Christmas half a year ago! What are you doing this weekend? Right now I’m watching a rerun of America’s Best Dance Crew and trying to decide where I’m going to get a pedicure this afternoon. Any color suggestions ladies?
