Introducing Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick & LOTD
Today I was feeling a little blah as I sifted through tubes and tubes of lip glosses in my makeup stash. I just couldn’t find the perfect shade that was gonna give me that oomph I was looking for - that is until I popped open a tube of Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick I got a few weeks ago.
Sugarplum Shimmer is a punchy berry plum with subtle shimmer. The second I put it on, it immediately inspired me to change out of my black top (I wear black almost every day), to a pretty purple one! I gave myself another once over and decided the particular shade was a little old lady-ish (you know what I’m talkin’ about, ya?). Also, the feeling of wearing lipstick only is still a little foreign to me so I applied a layer of Clinique Color Surge Impossibly Glossy in Sure Thing over Sugarplum Shimmer and was finally satisfied.
Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick ($19.50 US) is long-lasting and is also pretty moisturizing. It’s got this Triple Emollient Technology with 3 vitamins and aloe in the formula to help prevent the non-sexy, dry and cracked lips look.
These lip colors are available in 18 shades in Cream, Shimmer and Pearl finishes and while I’m not totally in love with the range of colors, I like that I can use it to mix and match to create colors that work for me.
I’m feeling a little under the weather today so I’m gonna try to take it easy - I’m a little sensitive to changes in SF weather when it goes from nice and warm one minute to chilly and foggy the next. How’s your Tuesday goin’?

Hi Glosslizard!
The weather is BEAUTIFUL today! Did you spend it doing something fun? I stayed indoors mostly trying to recoup
There’s a Red Door spa in the city but I’m not sure they sell products there. I would imagine they do though. I also remember seeing a vending machine somewhere, but can’t recall..
Are you into basketball at all? Looks like the Lakers are getting crushed right now!

Aww thanks Nikki!
How are you doing today? It’s very warm again in San Francisco. I haven’t recalled such nice spring in the Bay in a long time!

I had fun wandering around Union Square today in the fabulous weather! Got a new lipgloss and palette too! Woot!
I don’t usually like to watch basketball, but the Lakers getting crushed might be worth watching!

Hey Glosslizard,
The Lakers got crushed!!! It was pretty amusing
Oh you lucky girl, shopping in Union Square! Which gloss and palette did you get? I love living vicariously!

I’m glad you found the Lakers’ defeat amusing! I never know whether to say Yay or Boo ’cause some of those sports folks can get pretty touchy!
I got Clinique’s Long-lasting Glosswear in Caban Crush (excellent sheer, punchy pink with a little shimmer) and the new NARs Bridal palette! It’s soooooo awesome! The perfect palette for everyday or glamming it up for evening!
BTW, I’m really enjoying the trend show coverage! What bonus goodies did you score?

Hi Glosslizard,
Yes, sport fanatics can be a little crazy sometimes - even me. I can’t wait until football starts up again
Oooo, the NARS palette sounds amazing!! I love how palettes make life so much easier, yes?
Oh the Trend Show was super fun - I bought the Absolue foundation he used on me and a mascara. Lancome is having a free gift and the lipstick he used on me was included so I didn’t have to shell out extra for the lippie - it was good day!
Have you ever been to one of these trend shows before?

I love the hair! Whenever I try to pull off a half-do, it goes flat or lumpy.
How’d you style it?

Palettes are the total bomb when you can find one that doesn’t have the “dud” colors!
I went to the Nordstrom trend show for the first time last fall, it was fantastic! I couldn’t make it this time, but I’m definitely going to go again this fall! Last time I totally gorged on samples and free gifts! That’s also where I discovered my beloved Fekkai tousled wave spray! It was great!

Hi MandyPandy,
Ironically, when I pull my hair half up, it’s usually because my hair is dirty - LOL! I can give it some volume by teasing the back part of it and then secure with a couple of bobby pins. This helps me with the volume thing since I’m not blessed with lots of hair.

Hey Glosslizard,
I went to the Trend Show for the first time last year too! It was a blast - I can’t wait for the fall one already.
I was trying to look for the NARS palette you bought - would you mind linking me? I’m very intrigue!
Oh I didn’t bother with samples this time - there were so many people I felt really overwhelmed! I should have though - last year is how I discovered the Microdelivery Peel!

Yes, neither am I, sadly. It’s strange, but back in Highschool I had long, thick, flowing locks and now I have some sort of straggely rat’s nest lying atop my scalp,
