shu uemura Friends & Family Event!
I could hardly contain myself when I saw shu uemura’s Friends & Family event email come through my inbox - finally, I can get my friends to buy all the things I love from shu and they can’t complain because it’s 20% off!! I know, you can say it - I’m an enabler! (Keep reading for your discount code!)
I can’t wait to take advantage of this offer myself this weekend - I’ve been testing samples of shu’s Depsea Moisture collection for the past month or so and I love it. This collection is made with Depsea water, a proprietary ingredient made from more than 60 ocean minerals, to boost the natural function of the skin.
For this Friends & Family event, I’m looking to stock up on what I like to refer to as my shu uemura Trinity. It goes a little something like this:
High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Enriched ($28/$62 US): It’s a two-in-one product that acts as a makeup remover and cleanser. I really love this because (don’t judge me!) I don’t normally take off all my makeup or cleanse my face at night before I go to sleep. shu’s Cleansing Oil helps me get into the habit without having to go through a zillion steps - I’d be doomed for sure otherwise.
One thing I want to note is use of this product - it’s interesting, you use about a tablespoon of oil onto your dry hands and rub it all over your face. Then you apply a little bit of water over the oil to emulsify the solution and massage it into your skin. Rinse as usual. This takes a little getting used to but it’s worth it for me. My skin is clean, smooth and stays hydrated from the oils in the cleanser.
Depsea Moisture Replenishing Lotion ($30 US): I don’t know what it is about toners but I love that it makes my skin feel extra clean after cleansing and makes my skin soft and ready for whatever makeup I’m about to put on.
Depsea Moisture Replenishing Cream ($55 US): It might be labeled as a cream, but it’s not as heavy as you might think when you think of the word “cream”. It’s lightweight, non-greasy and moisturizes the heck out of my skin without any greasy residue. This cream contains Three Seaweed Extract and botanical oils and sinks into my skin leaving it soft and wonderful. I just love it.
But if makeup is your true passion - I’d say pick up the Fleur de Rose palette ($65 US) from their 25th Boutique Birthday collection - HANA-BI. I rocked this today with the pewter-purple shade from the palette. It makes for an awesome daytime smoky eye, although you can’t tell in this photo.

Aww thanks Mandy, you’re always boosting my ego with your comments! And I totally love it
I didn’t wear any concealer or foundation yesterday. I did use Clinique Almost Powder Makeup in #3 to cover up some of the shine and even out my skin a little bit.
And, I must know what you are getting from shu!
