NARS FOTD: Orgasm-Worthy? Find Out..
There are many products out there that claim to be lust-worthy, holy grails among millions, and are so hyped up - you must have them. One case in point: NARS Orgasm blush.
I have heard nothing but rave reviews about anything NARS puts out in this shade (check out my friend’s overzealous review here). And while I absolutely hate buying into anything that’s so pumped up (minus the Sex and the City movie, of course), I was (secretly) super stoked to get my hands on this NARS blush/bronzer duo ($37 US) in Orgasm and Laguna and couldn’t wait to try it out.
Orgasm blush is a pretty and soft peachy pink with subtle shimmer. It’s great to sweep all over your face to create a healthy glow - did you see Muse’s FOTD with just this blush and gloss? The results truly promises to live up to the hype.
Laguna, a camel brown with hints of shimmer, is the bronzer in this duo. I personally am not a huge fan of this shade - I feel like it looks a little flat on my skin as I tend to prefer just a bit more shimmer in my bronzers for more of a “glow”. But in a pinch, it’s great to have as a backup.
For the first few days I was testing this out, I was using the two shades together - Orgasm as a traditional blush with Laguna as a highlighter just at the tops of my cheeks, bridge of my nose and chin, as well as a contour. The combo together was less than desirable for me - it was just too muddy and not flattering at all. However, when I used the colors separately, it turned out much better. I actually took this on my trip over the holiday weekend - without any other cheek products - and liked it a lot. A blush and bronzer combo definitely saved me space in my travel bag and that’s always a good thing.
For today’s FOTD, I wanted to give myself an earthy look and used my Shu Uemura HANA-BI palette, Laguna bronzer only, and MAC Astral lipstick and Supreme lipglass from the Neo Sci-Fi collection.
How’s everyone’s Thursday so far? Mine is a little drab and I’m finding it hard to concentrate and get much done. At least there’s a new episode of America’s Best Dance Crew tonight - I can’t wait!

You know I tried a little contouring but (a) I don’t think it’s working and (b) maybe it’s because I don’t know how to contour that well - LOL!

I am not into body scrubs..again, due to my “very dry…earthquake” skin! hahahah You just wouldn’t believe my skin, you would think i came from Antarctica with its dryness..so when i do massages, i go for oil and trust me..my body absorbs the OIL! lol

Are spa services expensive in the Philippines? I imagine most things in Asia are more affordable - except for HK and Japan maybe?! I’ve never been and want to travel so badly!

I’ve been lucky to see a few great spots here in the States but not so much abroad. I went to the Caribbean last year and went Vietnam when I was about 10 or 11.
My next trip I’d love to go back to Vietnam and then visit Cambodia and Thailand (my boyfriend is Cambodian). If not, we’d love to spend time on the East Coast in Boston and DC. Who knows where the world will take us, right??
Singapore and Malaysia sound wonderful - watching No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain on TV.. he makes the food look SOOO good!
Maybe someday we’ll go to Manila, too - the BF has a friend that lives there now

Oh Thailand food!! YUM I went to Thailand with my colleagues last year for a company trip…you MUST haul for Clothes and shoes!!! They are soo cheap there! If you buy more than 1, it’ll be cheaper! So me and my friends where like buying the same stuffs but different colors! hahahah Good thing I don’t mind! lol
I’ve never been to Cambodia and Vietnam too, but that’ll be a good “next” destination!

I agree, the colors look like they would work better separately. I love my Orgasm blush on its own, but sometimes I do sweep some Bobbi Brown shimmer brick compact in bronze over it and it works pretty well!
