Back in the City!
I just got back from my camping trip a couple of hours ago and I gotta say, it’s so nice to be back! We didn’t do much, as I suspected – lots of eating, a bit of fishing, a whole lot of drinking, and most of all, it was just a nice and relaxing weekend with our friends.
I hope you had a great weekend too and are looking forward to the week. As for me, it’ll definitely be a new week filled with lots of writing – but at least now I feel well-rested! Check out some more photos from our short weekend away…
My friends Helen and Tiffany roasting marshmallows in the campfire.
Me and the Boyfriend after our early morning breakfast – nothing like bacon, eggs, hash browns and Ramen noodles (hey, I’m Asian) to satisfy my belly after a night of stories and drinking!
That’s me and my Allure mag catching some Zzz’s in the shade while the boys are fishing.

Thanks Anne,
I had a wonderful time! Did you have a fun weekend as well?

Hi Karen B,
This weekend definitely helped me rediscover my enthusiasm for Ramen! I really love instant noodles, but haven’t had Ramen brand in a while (since college!). Do you have any favorite foods that you recently rediscovered?

I need to get away!

Hi Elaine,
What would be a fun weekend getaway for you? I’m thinking the next outing for me will be wine tasting in Napa Valley

Not really that I discovered recently but my love for rice is enduring
My mum and brother don’t like it so it’s the perfect excuse to cook it a lot when I’m in Ghent studying

A fun weekend get-away for me would be a bit of hiking and a whole lot of eating and drinking with a handful of friends in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Or….
Cape Cod out of tourist season…by myself with a few bottles of fine wine (and a good restaurant nearby) . Too chicken to do that yet, but someday.

Hi Karen B,
I’m not much of a rice kinda gal (strange, right?) but they way you describe it makes it sound so yum! You’ll have to make us some if I ever get to your neck of the woods – someday!

Hi Elaine,
Your weekend getaways are definitely up my alley!
I’ve always wanted to go to Cape Cod! When is it not tourist season? That’s when I’d like to go – it’s fun to really get to know locals and see what the cities are like in true form.

As long as the weather is nice, Cape Cod is filled with tourists.
When the cold days come along – and they will soon enough, the beaches empty and it’s so lovely.

How do you keep up “Beauty While Camping”?
On August 22nd, 2008 Lilan said:
Hi Erica,
It was actually really easy to give up makeup over the weekend, however skin care was a must while camping. I stayed moisturized, drank lots of water (it was hot!), and wore lots of sunscreen to keep from burning and protected myself from skin damage
