Happy Birthday, Daily Cookie!
Wow, I can’t believe it, it’s finally here – today is officially The Daily Cookie’s one-year blogiversary! I just had my mani/pedi party yesterday with some of my friends and even a Daily Cookie reader who was able to join me from Oakland. It was tons of fun and I’ll post all about the event with pictures and announce the winners of the huge Stila and SECRET runner-up raffle bag from Lancôme!!!
For the last year, I’ve had so much fun sharing my ideas on the newest beauty trends with you and allowing myself to even play with some makeup colors I would have probably never dreamed of trying if it weren’t for you. I mean, who else is going to try out fuschia lips and orange eyeshadow for you to see right??

And now a fun little rewind of my favorite stories from the past 12 months!
I Love the 80s: I learned about the 80s Challenge from my girl Kia from Yummy411 and knew I had to take part in recreating superfab makeup looks from the decade I grew up in!
A Visit to Shu: My friend Susan got to sit in Nicky Posley’s chair at Shu Uemura in San Francisco where he showed us how to re-create Madonna’s Hard Candy album cover look, modeled after Marilyn Monroe’s look from the 1960s. Gotta love the cat eye!!
The Perfect Pout: This year, I found my perfect red lipstick. One that I can grow old with and wear for as long as I’m alive – or as long as its around Sexy, sultry, classic – I feel all of these things when I wear PS Kiss.
Doing my own makeup for a formal event: Last year, my cousin got married and made all us bridesmaids wear orange. While ‘Persimmon’ was a challenging color for me to wear and match makeup to, I think I made it work and looked pretty fierce rockin’ the coral lip – if I do say so myself!
The Cut: I had long hair for the past 6 or 7 years – even The Boyfriend had never seen me with short hair for the 5 years we’ve been together. One day I went to my hair appointment for a regular trim and decided to chop it all off. I haven’t looked back since!
We became god parents! Not very long after my cousin’s wedding, she and her hubby welcomed another baby girl into their family – and The Boyfriend and I became proud grandparents!!
In the Windy City! It’s been years since I traveled to Chicago and I’m so glad that The Boyfriend got to come and EAT with me!! In case you hadn’t noticed – we love food!
I Love Danity Kane! I had a great opportunity to get a Q&A with Danity Kane’s makeup artist for the girls’ cover shoot of their sophmore album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. I love her insider tips!
Thanks everyone for sticking with me this year – cheers to a great 2nd year where I’ll bring you more of my favorite beauty adventures as well as more snippets into my own personal life!!
