Viktor & Rolf for shu uemura
Holy mackerel! When I peeped this photo I was immediately engaged and completely inspired by the styling - from the impeccable hair to the flawless makeup. To some, it may look clownish (it actually does), but that’s the one thing it should do - evoke fantasy.
shu uemura partnered up with legendary designers Viktor & Rolf and is releasing a new limited edition set of couture lashes in September 2008.
“shu uemura eyelashes are almost a fashion accessory and we like that. It’s something you can play with and transform yourself. This appeals to us because the idea of transformation is really important in our own work and in our philosophy.” - Viktor & Rolf
Three limited edition sets will debut next month in boutiques and at select retailers for $95 each! Wing (as shown above) is A Messenger of Hope with artistic flair and intricate detail. It’s the most couture of the three lashes. Swirl, A Blink of a Smile, is a playful, opulent eyelash and Rhombus, A Glance of Treasure, inspired by Viktor & Rolf’s Pierrot themed Spring/Summer 2008 Collection.
So ladies and gents, what is your idea of change when you’re looking to transform yourself? It is with fantasy lashes? Channeling a beauty icon from another era? I’d love to hear all about what your muse is!

Those are some fierce lashes!
When I want to transform myself, I typically dye my hair. Big whoop! I am too much of a chicken to do anything else.

Actually I kind of love it! Those lashes are beyond beautiful.
*sigh* If only I was younger. I can so se my 25-year old self pulling them off. Totally!

Hey Marisol,
You’re much braver than I am! I’m too chicken to change my hair color too much. When I want to go bold I usually just go with a brighter eye shadow or top (I wear black almost every day, ha!). That way it’s easy for me to change clothes or wash my face

Hi fifrildi,
Do you wear falsies regularly?
I agree, these lashes are gorgeous! I don’t know if I’d ever have the guts to pull it off, now or when I was 25

I wish they had pictures of models wearing the other pairs.

My lashes are quite long and thick so I just put on a layer of Estee Lauder lash primer under my regular mascara and I’m good to go. Sometimes I use those small individual lashes to add some oomph in my outer corner.
But when I was younger I would put on some falsh lashes for a night out. I looked fierce
(I was kind of punk-gothy when I was younger and looked the part!)

Hi J,
I totally wish I could see what the other lashes look like on the models too! I can tell you that Swirl is very long and flirty with the outer egdes curled up and Rhombus is flashy, copper and gold colored.
Hope you have fun plans for the weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Hi fifrildi,
For me, no matter how much mascara I put on my lashes I can never get them to look long and full. My only hope are falsies! I used to wear MAC half lashes on the outer corners of my eyes almost everyday when I went to work. On me, they were so natural, a lot of folks thought they were my own! Oh, those were the days
Hope you have a fun weekend planned!

(Actually I spent that weekend in a spa hotel - It was a good weekend. I’m all pampered up!)
But you are asian right? So thin lashes unfortenately goes with the territory. I comfort my asian friends with the fact that you wont wrinkle as easily as my scandinavian face is doomed to do! (I have noticed them… creaping in on me around the eyes. I use azealin acid religiously to ward them off in the rest of my face, but around the eyes? *sigh*)
