Weekend Camping Beauty Essentials
Today I’m heading out of the office early to pack up the car and go camping at Clearlake — about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco. I’ve never been camping before since my idea of roughin’ it is a fully functional lakeside cabin. This weekend, we’re pitching tents, fishing and.. well, for me, I’ll be laying out basking in the sun too
The boyfriend tells me I need to pack light and leave the makeup bag at home. And while I’m giving in and leaving the Chanel back in the city, there are definitely a few basics that I’m going to take with me.
1. Pond’s Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes - on a campsite where bathrooms and sinks might be scarce, I plan to keep my skin clean and refreshed in 90 degree heat with these easy disposable wipes. These are heavy duty cloths packed with chamomile and vitamin E. Just one wipe will suffice in taking away all the sweat and grime from the outdoors in a few swipes. And, in a 30-pack, I can share with the rest of my friends without a hassle.
2. Jonathan Pocket Redo Wipes - I’ve never tried these but I think this weekend presents the perfect occasion to try them, right? This product says that you can restyle and refreshen your hair without shampooing. All you have to do is use the wipes to run them through your hair in sections; they’ll remove oils and dirt to keep your mane looking fresh. With two days without a proper shower, I’m banking on these to deliver for me. Stay tuned for my review next week to find out if they really work!
3. Shu Uemura Depsea Moisture Replenishing Cream - one of my favorite shu products is even better in a sample size! A few months ago when I visited the Fillmore shu store to get tips on Madonna’s Hard Candy look, the cool Mr. Nicky Posley hooked me up with a cute little jar of Depsea to try. I love it so much that I plan to refill this sample jar with more Depsea Moisture Replenishing Cream from my full sized jar when it runs out. The size is perfect for travel!
4. Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Sunblock, SPF 45 - the greater part of the days are going to be spent in the sun. And while I do want to get my tan on, I don’t want to overbake and definitely want to protect my skin. This sunblock comes in a body mist that’ll make it easy to apply all over and cool me off in under the hot sun at the same time. Don’t you love multi-functional products, I sure do!
What are your plans this weekend? I hope you’re taking advantage of the last weeks of summer before it starts to get cold!

I’m curious to hear how the Pocket Redo Wipes work out! A warning on the Pond’s - I think those are scented, no? The scented and “purfumey” stuff seems to attract mosquitoes and gnats. Have a great time!
Cheers,
Roy

Hi Roy,
Thanks for your comment! I’ll definitely let you know how the wipes turn out and thanks so much for the Ponds tip! I’ll be sure to keep it super secure in a zip lock baggie as well as thoroughly towel dry my face when using
Hopefully I won’t get bit too much, I hate bugs!!

I am spending the weekend in Napa enjoying some yummy wine. Sunday I am hoping to go to a new French bistro in Sausalito and walk around the cute shops.

Hi Marisol,
I LOVE the little down in Sausalito! Have you been to Horizon’s Restaurant? The Boyfriend and I went there once and had some yummy oysters :):
