I really want Rave and Black Russian. I’ve been eyeing Smoke & Ash, Rose Suite and Ocean 2, though I probably won’t indulge in the eye shadows. Out of curiousity, which eye shadow duo would you pair with Rave?

Hi Decorative Diva!
I’m on the fence about the glittery eye pencils. The ones that came out with Heatherette proved hard for me to work with
But, if I had to pick up Rave, I’d probably pair it with the green side from Counterparts if I’m feeling sassy. I really like how green and purples play together.
Or, if I’m feeling more demure with a hint of sass, I’d use Sweet Liason and line my lower waterline with Rave for a pop of color.

Yeah, that’s a good point. If the texture is hard to work with, I won’t want to use it. I really only like the technakohl liners and power point liners from MAC.
I was thinking Rave would be fun with Smoke & Ash or Rose Suites, but I couldn’t figure out what else it would look good with, so I’m glad to here what you’d use it with!

I am soooo checking out the liners! I have seen some swatches online and there are two that I am lusting after.

All of these look so sleek and chic and I love the colour combinations!

Hi Decorative Diva!
I’ve actually only used the black technakohl liner and never the power point liners – how do you like them?
It’s been such a hectic couple of days that I still haven’t been able to check out these shadow duos, yikes! Have you gone out to pick any up yet?

Hi Marisol,
Happy Saturday!!
Which two duos are you lemming for? I really can’t decide for myself.

Yeah, I checked out the eye shadow duos and they seemed sheer and chalky, so I skipped them. I LOVED how Rave looked, but opted not to pick it up because it can’t be used on the lower water line.
I love Graphblack (which is what I have in the technakohl). I used to have it smudge under my eyes by halfway through the day though. I’m not sure if my application technique has gotten better or what, but it rarely smudges on me now.
I ended up skipping on the new releases, but I did purchase Luna Cream Color Base (which can be used on the eyes and lips and it’s a frosty white). I also picked up my first fluidline in Waveline (a rich navy blue). Since I prefer gel liners most of the time these days anyways, and I’ve been missing having a navy blue, I figured I’d see what I thought.
In the power point I have engraved and I think it smudges on me more than Graphblack does.
While I love Graphblack, there aren’t really any other colors in the technakohl that I’d like to pick up, which is kinda sad. Same thing with the powerpoints, too.
Incidently, I do have some of the liquid last liners and they’re such a pita to use. I hate the brush that comes with them. I have Point Black, Inky and Greenplay in those.
I still may consider going back and picking up Rave and maybe Spare Change at some point, but it’s not really a priority for me now.

Hi Decorative Diva,
How cool that you got Waveline fluidline! I much prefer gel liners as well and the last time I was at the MAC counter, they were out of Waveline so I picked up another blue (can’t remember the name and I can’t find it right now – eep!). It’s more of an electric blue than navy but I still love it
Hope you’re surviving Monday, I have a couple of errands to run and then I get the rest of the day to relax, yay!
On September 29th, 2008 Decorative Diva said:
Maybe you got Blue Peep?
I like Waveline, but I don’t like Luna.
When I used Luna the way I use my paint pots (bare study and blackground), it creased my eye shadow all to hell, so I’m going to see if I can return it.
It’s certainly been a bad day so far, but on the upside I’m working from home, so I can do stuff around the house in between doing stuff for work. It’s not too bad.
I hope you have a great day

Hi DD,
It might be Blue Peep, I’m going to dig around today to see if I can find it.
I’m sure you can return Luna, that’s too bad that it creased like that.
I always love working from home – don’t you find that often times you get more work done? I do!

I definitely feel like I get more done working at home, plus I can tidy up around the house, so I sort of feel like I accomplish more and it makes me happy
I’m just hoping I can return it. I was stupid and threw away the box and receipt. When I called Nordstrom’s though they said they might be able to look it up (I called them on Sunday and I bought it on Friday). I just didn’t expect to be disappointed with the product

Hi Decorative Diva,
Nordie’s is awesome, you should be able to return – especially if you bought it on Friday. Maybe check in with the sales person you bought it from, they can vouch for ya
If anything, maybe they’ll let you exchange it for something you’ll love!
