Shimmering FOTD w/ Bobbi Brown Pink Sequin
There’s this jewelry store in Lake Tahoe that I like to window shop in when I’m visiting my mom in the mountains. They sell beautiful pieces with all types of precious and semi-precious stones. I love the way each case shimmers in the light – my favorites are purple amethysts, royal sapphires, and of course those deep red garnets – my birthstone.
On Monday, my mom leaves to go on vacation; she’s spending 4 weeks in Vietnam and Taiwan. Since I won’t be seeing my mom for at least six weeks, I thought I’d go for a little shimmer with my makeup to remind me of my visits to Mom and that cute little jewelry shop just down the street from her salon.
For the fall, Bobbi Brown released 4 new shades of her hit Creamy Lip Color she originally debuted in the Spring – Baby, Sunset Nude, Pink Buff, and Pink Sequin.
Today I’ve got on Pink Sequin, a really sheer peachy/pink shade with flashes of goldish shimmer. It’s a little lighter in color than what I would have expected since the two colors I had from the previous release were more pigmented.
Nonetheless, it’s great for on-the-go when you just need something so that you don’t look like a pale and cracked lipped mess since these Creamy Lip Colors are pretty moisturizing with shea butter in its formula.
I paired the lip color with a shimmery plum eye and highlighted the inner corners with a silvery gray shadow for a luminescent effect. I only wished that my hair looked as sassy as I felt but it just wasn’t working for me today.
I’m so glad it’s Friday – I’m really looking forward to a nice weekend at home getting rowdy with the boys on Sunday for football. It’s only Week 3 and we’re all getting pretty competitive in our fantasy football leagues. Do you have any fun plans going on?

Everything always looks so much more vibrant in person and I’m sad I can’t capture it on film as well
Hope your Friday is a good one!

I swept a little NARS Orgasm on the cheeks since I liked its subtle shimmer

Thanks Karen B!
What colors do you love wearing now that you’re a fiery redhead?
Hope you’re having a good Saturday so far!

I just wear not much, Bare Study Paintpot all over the eye, black mascara and Lancôme Le Crayon Kohl in Raisin Noir along the bottom lashes. I found that I really need that liner because otherwise my eyes just “disappear” with all that red hair… lol
I had my first rehearsal with the youth music group this evening and it went very well. I was a tad nervous but it worked out allright. I have to direct them and write the accompaniements and stuff so it was a bit daunting, the first rehearsal.
I’ve had a very nice Saturday, thanks

I do have some BB items and I like them all.
3 gel liner
Burnt Sugar e/s trio
a couple of the shimmer bricks
I also have the exfoliating beads which work pretty great.

Hey Karen B,
I agree with you on wearing eye liner – they do wonders for my otherwise small eyes! How do you like the Lancome liners, I have yet to try one
Sounds like you had fun day with the youth group – it must be so cool to help teach kids!

Hi Marisol,
I’ve got a couple of BB’s gel liners as well! I love them, I only wish they came in more colors.
I also really drool over the shimmer bricks when I see them but haven’t shelled out the money for any of them yet – but I do hear they are great!

It was a lot of fun.
I like it a lot. I’m usually useless with liner so this was good. Creamy consistency and waterproof so I’m all set. And it really is waterproof you know, I tried it on my hand first and it doesn’t budge if you just wash your hands. Impressive.

Wow, creamy and waterproof?? That sounds like a great liner, Karen B!
I just looked it up on the Lancome site, is it this one?

I could definitely use something that doesn’t smudge on the lower lashline
On September 24th, 2008 Karen B said:
Yup, that’s the one. There’s a ‘normal’ version and a waterproof version.

Here’s a link to the Dutch site, you can see it’s different from the one you showed. The one you linked to is the non-waterproof.
It does smudge a tad, but really very very minimal. It’s still pretty much perfect by the end of the day, but after waking up with it (I had a looooong day at work) it was very smokey… lol
