A Buddy To Love: Model Co Eye Liquid Buds
I really hate when I get smudges when applying my mascara. Ya feel me, right? And the brand new tubes are especially troublesome since the formulas are much wetter during the first week of use.
I what I hate even more is using my bare finger to try and wipe away the smudge, tugging at my skin around the eye, and worst of all, run the risk of ruining my otherwise lovely eye makeup.
Enter my new saving grace – Eye Liquid Buds Makeup Remover from Model Co.
Eye Liquid Buds ($14 US) are these nifty cotton swabs that contain makeup remover right inside the sticks. All you have to do is snap off the end of the swab where the red line is and let the liquid run down to the other end until the cotton fills with makeup remover.
And voilà – you’re ready to effortlessly erase any mascara smudges or wipe away the excess black shadow you’ve got on your cheeks or under your eyes while trying to create that perfect smoky eye for that Saturday night date tonight.
These are particularly nice to keep in your purse for quick fixes throughout the day or, my personal preference, take it with you when you travel. With the liquid restrictions on flights, keep your bottle of makeup remover at home and save the space allocated for other goodies – like lip gloss!
If you’re totally keen on the idea of portable beauty fix-its, Model Co. also makes additional versions of the Eye Liquid Buds like the Lip Revitaliser, an aloe formula for chapped lips that are completely sanitary because you don’t have to stick your finger in a pot, as well as Nail Polish Remover, to remove any excess polish from your hands around your nails without ruining your perfect mani.
It’s Saturday and I don’t have any plans so the Boyfriend and I are going to stay in and play with our new Wii Fit that we just got yesterday. Hopefully this will prove to be a good gym alternative for us at the house.

I love the idea of these buds, but the price is a little steep for me. I have very deepset eyes, and always have to “clean-up” the area after applying mascara (I love Chanel Exceptionnel). A q-tip and warm water do fine. I get around the whole take your makeup off thing by putting my mascara on first, and using creme eyeshadow instead of powder. Love your site, and am a faithful reader

I need some of these for sure! And Lilan, this product doesn’t scare me. Yippee!

I tried these a couple of years ago and I kind of hated them. They left some sort of make-up-remover residue under my eyes and made my mascara runny. So it just made matters worse for me and were anything but a quick fix….

Hi NurseExec,
Thanks again for stopping by and leaving a comment!
I would have never thought to put on my mascara first and follow up with cream shadows! Do you find that you’re still able to get the variety of colors you want since most shadows seem to be powder?

Hi fifrildi,
Aww sorry these didn’t work for you. I can see how they can cause kind of a mess though – you get a ton of liquid on the tips when you might not need as much.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Seems pretty spiffy! Sadly, I’ve had poor results with Modelco in the past, so I don’t know if I’ll be trying this anytime soon.
