Henri Bendel & Allure Beauty Shopping Party
A few weeks ago I posted details for the Henri Bendel & Allure shopping party held last week. Were you able to make it? I did! I brought a couple of friends and they brought a couple of friends. It was a shopping party indeed! They had champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and lots of prizes and free stuff.
I bypassed most of the commotion on the floor and headed over to the Kevyn Aucoin counter for a makeover. I’d never tried the line and wanted to see if the products were as legendary as the make-up artist who created it.
Chris, the counter manager, spent some time with me and freshened up my colors. After about 40 minutes with the make-up artist, I purchased two The Curling Mascaras in Rich Pitch Black, The Liquid Foundation Pen Lip gloss in Hydraa and The Elegant Lip Gloss in Cloudaine.
The three piece purchase from the line also meant I got a free Precision Brow Pencil in Brunette (a $24 value). What do you think of the new look?
My favorite product from the line is The Mascara. I’m not going to lie…it’s not as awesome as my Lancome Hypnose but I like it for different reasons. Unlike all the other mascaras I’ve tried, this one does not melt. I’ve been test driving the formula for 5 days now and there hasn’t been a single black smudge under my eye.
The mascara also washes off easily with just soap and water. The black ink rubs off like rubber erasers (weird, I know!). For the first time in a long time, I am able to go to bed without a single trace of eye make-up!
I love parties, shopping, beauty products and free stuff. Allure must have known this because they gave away goodies including: a small make-up bag, a retractable hair brush, the latest issue of Allure magazine and chic Henri Bendel breath mints with any beauty purchase.
My $100+ purchase also earned me a chance at the grab bag table where I won a Patricia Wexler Resurfacing Microbrasion System (a $60 value) and a Damage Reversal Lip Treatment (a $20 value). As I was leaving, the Kate Somerville specialist handed me a little kit with 5 deluxe samples of the line’s best sellers.
Overall, the event was the perfect way to spend a blustery Wednesday night.

I love the architecture of Bendel’s. Was the party busy? It looks like the artists are kind of just standing around. We just hosted one at the Nordstrom Dallas Galleria for winning the best place in Dallace to get make up. It was rockin. I’m glad you won a gift basket. We put together some pretty snazzy sets as well.
Love your site. I’m just starting my first post on my beauty blog. Check it out. My goal is to down the road get a readership like you have.
