Get AGLOW for the Holidays
With each collection, I start to love Prescriptives more and more. From the first time I tried their Soft Spoken lip collection to my new favorite Super Line Preventor Xtreme, I now look forward to new products that come out.
Prescriptives’ Holiday Collection, AGLOW, is no different. For one, I love the packaging of their palettes! The silvery and magnetic casing makes it unique as I’ve rarely owned a palette that wasn’t an actual snap case.
And if that wasn’t cool enough, what’s inside is pretty darn awesome too. Limited Edition for the holidays, Prescriptives put out two new Winter Reflections Color Eye Quad ($42 US) in Cool and Warm to best fit your skin tone or color preference. I have the Cool palette with Shell and limited edition shades Oyster, Twinkle and Eclipse (clockwise from top left).
Here’s a quick look I did this morning as I got ready to run a bunch of errands before I head out of town again tomorrow for a long weekend in Las Vegas with some friends for the Boyfriend’s birthday!
I highlighted with Shell; applied Twinkle in the outer half of the lids and Eclipse in the inner half before blending really well since Twinkle is really dark and pigmented. I could hardly tell that it’s purple because it’s so dark! I also swept a little bit of Oyster in the inner center of the lid to brighten up the overall look and finished with Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink.
While I like the colors of this palette, the darker shades seemed a bit harder for me to work with as they didn’t apply on as smoothly as Shell did and required a little extra work in blending.
For my cheeks, I was really excited to try the new Winter Reflections All-Over Highlighter ($35 US). With this product, a little certainly goes a very long way and is probably the inspiration behind “AGLOW” as I was definitely glowing after I swept the highlighter over my cheeks with my MAC 187 dupe brush from Lumiere cosmetics.
I finished the look with Colorscope Lip Gloss ($17.50 US) in limited edition shade Rosy, for a subtle pinky shimmer to offset my darker daytime eye.
Prescriptives AGLOW offers lots of shimmery options for holiday this year; check out the full collection online or on counters, available now. If you had to just add one item to your repertoire, I would definitely recommend Winter Reflections All-Over Highlighter as they are definitely pearls of goodness.

I’m really loving the All Over Highlighter on you. This looks like it would be a great alternative to Guerlain’s Meteorites Powder.

Hi mandy,
I still have yet to try Guerlain! Bad cookie..
Hope all is well with you.. I’m getting ready to gear up for holiday AND baby season. I’m hoping it’s not going to end up like your past wedding season but I won’t hold my breath

At first I thought my skin was going to look greasy because it was warm this morning, but nope.. it really was just a glow! LOL
How are you doing, chica? Anything fun planned this weekend for you and your hubby?

It’s well enough, I suppose. It’s flu season in the East, so I’ve been a bit out of it, for the past few days.
Wow, Holiday AND baby season sounds like a double whammy! Wedding season is not quite over for me, btw, as entirely too many jerks are choosing to get married in December. The depression had barely lifted when these tw@ts started sending out the wedding invitations.

Hi Karen B,
It’s not often that I can pull of an eye like that with little frustration, LOL
How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Aww mandy, I hope you feel better soon girl!
I’ve been sick too.. all throughout my trip so that wasn’t really fun to have to blow my nose every other minute while trying to gamble with the big boys on the tables, LOL
I’m going to pray for no more weddings for you for a while after this wave hits.. you need a break, I’m sure!
