Shimmering for the Holidays: Bobbi Brown Copper Diamond Collection and FOTD
I went for a quick stroll to the mall to peep all the brand-spankin’-new holiday collections popping up on every counter.
Between all the glittery and shimmery limited edition sets, the only thing that caught my eye on this day was the promo image for Bobbi Brown’s holiday offering, Copper Diamond.
Bobbi is known for playing up the more subtle and natural looks, this is something that was completely unexpected – at least for me anyway: hot and sultry, smoky eyes!
So I went in for a closer look and found these pretty new goodies: Glitter Lip Balm ($19 US each) and Copper Diamond Shimmer Brick ($40 US).
Glitter Lip Balm is an evolution of Bobbi Brown’s original lip balm with pearl and glitter pigments mixed in for some high-def shimmer in three shades no one can deny.
From left to right:
Copper Diamond: Medium Brown with Golden Glitter
Crystal Diamond: Icy White Silver
Pink Crystal: Icy Pink with Silver/Pink Glitter
Although I could pick up all three and not feel guilty about it all, if I had to choose one it would be the collection’s namesake, Copper Diamond. It’s cool with flecks of glitter, yet warm in shade, making for one very versatile lippie. Me thinks my friend The Muse, queen of pretty shimmery FOTDs, would just DIE for these sparkly lip balms!
The bottom swatch is the Copper Diamond Shimmer Brick face compact. To me, it looks a little chalky in the swatch but I think if applied with a brush on your bare cheeks or over a peachy blush, it’ll probably create a nice, golden glow.
Now, I know you might be wondering, “There’s nothing smoky about either of these..” You’re right about that, although Copper Diamond is a separate collection that’s been released together with Bobbi’s new holiday palettes and kits.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I showed you the new Velvet Plum Eye Palette? Well that’s exactly the palette I used to recreate the smoky eyes for my Copper Diamond FOTD.
Eyes:
- BB Velvet Plum Eye Palette in Espresso and Velvet Plum Metallic on the lids
- BB Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
- Too Faced Lash Injection Pinpoint mascara
Cheeks:
- Estee Lauder Powder Blush in Plum Nuance
Lips:
- BB Pink Quartz Glitter Lip Gloss from Pink Ribbon Collection
