We’re still about two hours away from Christmas Eve dinner with the family and I’m starving!

But before we sit down to eat, I wanted to put together a beauty look for tonight using shades from Three Custom Color‘s new lip collection inspired by Showtime’s hit television series The L Word.  I haven’t seen this show yet but I’m sure it’s great coming from a network that’s also home to a couple of my favorite shows, Weeds and Dexter.

The colors from Three Custom Color’s The L Word Collection are created in their award-winning sheer formula and are inspired by the series’ most popular and sexy characters: Bette, Kit, Alice and Shane.

Lucky me, I got a chance to preview two of them before they available for purchase next month.

Bette is described as a passionate and powerful yet sophisticated red.  In the tube, this shade looked a bit scary to me but applied on, it’s like a sheer maraschino cherry that’s buildable for a more intense color payoff if you want it.

Alice is a warm, fleshy rose with a hint of shimmer.  This one doesn’t blow my mind away but is a solid shade that’s good to have for your everyday makeup bag.

Then there’s Kit, a raisin shade with copper shimmer, and Shane, a creamy neutral color.

Three Custom Color and The L Word have also teamed up to bring you a unique online contest where they want beauty junkies and fans of the show to come up with the best tagline for each shade from now through December 30th.  Then on January 18, 2009 winners will be announced on air during the season premiere and will receive an awesome prize package featuring the complete The L Word lip collection, a $300 gift certificate redeemable at www.threecustom.com, and an array of gifts from The L Word and Showtime.
