Holiday Look with tarte Purse Your Lips
I have to admit, I don’t surf the online beauty websites as often as I’d like to. But this morning, I was perusing Allure.com and came across this photo to base my holiday look around.
There’s nothing more captivating in the middle of winter than a shimmery ice princess, a look that I think I can pull off just by adding a little bit of sparkle to my eyes and lips. And I have the perfect lip glosses in mind to finish my look – tarte’s Purse Your Lips Limited Edition Super Fruit Lipgloss Clutch ($39 US).
This lip collection comes with 9 brand new limited edition shades formulated with tarte’s t5 super fruit complex blend of the five most active superfruits packed with vitamins and antioxidants to benefit your skin including pomegrante, acai, and goji.
All the shades are on the sheer side, but are definitely buildable to obtain a little bit of color if you really want it, especially the darker colors. The formula is also tacky enough to stay on for a few hours, but not annoying sticky – which makes for a nice lip gloss.
From L to R: shimmering bubblegum pink, sheer pink nectar, gold-tinged plum, shimmering brown sugar, shimmering near nude, shimmering deep mauve, sheer crimson, shimmering deep cranberry, and shimmering nude-peach

For today’s look, I used a combination of light gray shadows and added a spark of glitter by lining my eyes with MAC Glitter ($17.50 US) in 3D Silver from their Heatherette collection. You can try getting the look with Reflects Transparent Teal since 3D Silver was a Limited Edition release.
I swept Blonde Mineralize Skinfinish ($25 US) on my cheeks and finished the look with a healthy helping of tarte gloss in the shimmering bubblegum pink shade.

Now I’m ready for New Year’s Eve! And you know what the best part is? I can use the purple and gold veined clutch from the Purse Your Lips collection out on the town with me!! It’s super stylish and is big enough to hold all the essentials for touching up my look throughout the evening. Definitely worth the $39 price tag for just this alone.
Now.. if only I knew where I was going tomorrow night, LOL
What are your plans for NYE? And what’s your preferred look for a night on the town? I love to hear what your beauty look will be!

I have part of my NYE nite planned, but still working on the rest. A small group of family and friends are driving to Lexington, KY and going to Miyako sushi and steak. I’m taking my look from julieg713 on youtube. It’s her New Years Smokey Purple and it’s really pretty and I’ve got it planned for my NYE. I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Years!!!!

I looked at getting that clutch but couldn’t justify it because I’d probably only wear shimmering deep mauve, sheer crimson, & shimmering deep cranberry.
You look lovely!
We’re not sure what we’re going to do, maybe go to Channelside and have a few drinks and see fireworks.

Hi Jody,
Sushi and steak sound great for tomorrow night! What’s your favorite sushi roll? I’m not very adventurous – mine is the spicy tuna roll
I think for my NYE, we’re going to stay in with friends and toast champagne (and other beverages) throughout the night, LOL
Have a safe and fun night as well!

Hi Decorative Diva,
I can definitely see you rockin’ the sheer crimson. I think the last peachy shade would look awesome on you too!
Fireworks sound super fun, I sometimes forget that it’s not just for 4th of July

Seeing this look on you I now want that glitter! Lol. But I usually look tacky with glitter so I’ll refrain myself.
I usually go pretty neutral even for parties as there’s a lot of heat and sweating and stuff. I’ll do some cat-eye liner tonight though

Hi Karen B,
Cat liner sounds perfect for NYE – it’s elegant and fiesty! LOL
I think I want to do glitter again tonight, but more of it! I only did liner yesterday because I was running errands during the day and didn’t want to look like a crazy disco ball
Happy New Year and see you again in 2009!!!

It was perfect, not too party-party but not very much daytime. I made it a bit thicker than I usually do and with a nice wing
Happy 2009!
