Back to Work FOTD with Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy

Today I’m feeling excited!

It’s my first day at a new part-time position in downtown San Francisco and I want to look (and feel!) amazing while still keeping my budget in mind until I land something full time.

As I head back into the workforce this morning after getting laid off last fall, I decided on a few goodies by Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy.  Channeling my inner Recessionista, everything I used rang in at less than $11 per product.

Having never used Sally Hansen Natural Beauty makeup products before, I was surprised when I fell in love with everything!  Can I just tell you what an awesome value these are?

Starting with the Instant Definition Eye Shadow Palette ($7.99 US) in Storm.   This palettes comes with three beautifully milled and uber pigmented shades of gunmetal, soft ivory, and a shimmery grayish brown (very similar to MAC Satin Taupe that I love from their holiday palette).

With a defined lid, contour and highlight shade clearly labeled, makeup artist Carmindy really kept simplicity in mind and ease of use when she created these.  The finishes are very soft and easy to blend; I was able to finish my eye makeup in 5 minutes flat.

To keep my face looking light and fresh with the deeper eye, I wore Natural Beauty Powder Blush ($10.99 US) in Cherub, a coral pink shade that really made my cheeks pop.

Like the shadows, these are jet milled making them super soft.  I only needed a little on the apples of my cheeks to get a great flush, so be careful not to go to town with these – and remember to blend!

Finally, I topped my lips with Natural Shine Lipgloss ($7.99 US) in Sugar Plum, an intense berry with a hint of shimmer.  I want to describe these as a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid.  The gloss lover in me appreciates the texture and finish of a gloss with the coverage of a lipstick.

What do you think of these budget-friendly beauty buys?  I’m really diggin’ them, Recessionista or not!  ;)

I hope you’re all having a great Wednesday.  I’m getting ready to head out the door to catch the BART downtown – wish me luck!

PS – Fun fact of the day: I let the Boyfriend choose all the makeup colors I wore today.  Does he have an intuitive color palette or what?  ;)
