shu uemura Mirage Spring 2009 = Dreamy!!

I love these warm and breezy days Mother Nature throws in between the chilly and overcast ones here in San Francisco.  It reminds me of spring time and of what the new season brings – a certain airiness, beautiful pastel florals, and (of course) light and effortless beauty looks.

So when I saw shu uemura’s new Spring Mode Makeup Collection, Mirage, I immediately thought, “How dreeeaaammy..”  It’s the perfect collection to make you feel like you’re in another world.

Mirage enhances the uniqueness of every woman’s face and accentuates her natural positions of light and shadow.  The colors are soft like water colors and I can’t wait to peep these in person at the San Francisco shu uemura boutique!

The collection includes two eye shadow palettes ($40 US each): Fantasia with a trio of pastel pink, gray, and lavender and Utopia featuring spring green, warm brown, and powder blue.

Pair the eye palettes with one (or all three!) Drawing Pencils ($19 US each) as a subtle highlight for your eyes.  I’m definitely intrigued by the pastel shades and am curious to see how they’d work with my dark eyes.

shu uemura makes beautiful, lively blusher palettes ($38 US each) and for the Mirage collection we get Orange Phase, a cream and powder duo for color, and Misty Glow, an ivory and pale pink combination to be used as a highlight. The orange looks a little scary since I’ve never tried the color, but with a light hand, I’m really wondering if I can make it work!

Rounding out the subtle spring collection are three Rouge Unlimited lipsticks ($23 US each) and a Lip Duo Tint and Gloss ($32 US).  This double decker lippie is a must-have for me!  The top of the duo serves as a tint to add just a touch of color when you’re on the go and the bottom sheer gloss adds a pretty sheen atop any shade you happen to be wearing.

Right now I’m looking at photos from last night’s Golden Globe Awards and Drew Barrymore looks like she took her look right from Mirage – her powder blue eyes matched her dress beautifully and I loved her pale pink lip!  Hands down, Drew’s was my favorite beauty look from the show.  But was it just me or was she and Jessica Lange oddly joined at the hip?
