Sunday Fun Poll: Update Your Look in 2009
Around this time of year, I find myself wondering what I can do to sass up my look. It’s a mental thing I think, if I change something about my appearance, it (hopefully) symbolizes change in the rest of the year.
Yesterday I was reading an article on Yahoo! Shine about tips for updating your look in 2009. Some of these sound like a lot of fun and certainly do-able, like changing your hair or attempting a new accessories style. I’d really like to wear false lashes at least once a week!
Others just seemed out of left field to me – buy a new bra to dress up your breasts? I’m not sure how this helps me to update my look, unless the Boyfriend notices, LOL!
What’s your favorite tip from Yahoo! Shine to update your look and how would you incorporate that into your style regimen in the new year? I’d love to hear about them in the Comments!

I went for the weekly inexpensive beauty ritual
I think that daily would be hard to keep up, but weekly is just right. Also my student budget likes the word ‘inexpensive’

I’m going with changing my hair.
Just before the end of 2008 I shaved off (almost) all my hair. I’v had black coloured hair for more years than I care to remember and I wanted to find my own hair colour. i’m going to splurge on a good hair stylist to cut (and maybe colour) my hair – I’v found a good salon that only uses organic products (so now I’m just waiting for my hair to grow back out, I’m up to 2,5 inches by now)

Hi Karen B,
I liked that idea too – what do you think your weekly ritual will be?

Hi fifrildi,
Wow, that’s so bold of you! Are you enjoying the shorter hair? It must be super easy to maintain. Once your hair grows longer, are there any fun styles or celebrity looks you like? Can’t wait to hear updates from you in a few months!
PS – hope you had a happy new year!

Hmmmm I’m not sure yet. I’m leaving for Sweden next week on Wednesday so it’ll probably be a thorough exfoliation and then rub-in of moisturizer. That would be fab
My skin’ll need it with all that cold

It felt very liberating actually to cut off old, worn out hair. I was left with only 1/4 inch, and I think those around me were most shocked!
I’m aiming for the hair style of a Norwegian sports anchor, but my hair is brownish, while her’s is blonde:

Hopefully by summer

Oh – yes: It’s very easy to maintain, and it dries in no time. Which is a bonus: It’s very, very cold in Norway now…
(A!nd happy new year to you)
