Clinique Keeps Makeup Looking Even Better
How many of you avoid wearing foundations in extreme heat weather in fear of it melting off your face in the middle of the day? I certainly raise my hand to that.
As most of you know, I spent the weekend in wonderful 80 degree weather in Las Vegas and came back to even hotter temps today in San Francisco. So I thought, this is the perfect opportunity to figure out if Clinique’s new Even Better Makeup with SPF 15 could stand the the heat and keep me looking flawless – even while I dab the sweat away from my forehead and upper lip, LOL!
Clinique Even Better Makeup with SPF 15 ($24.50 US) is a new light-weight and oil-free foundation formula developed by dermatologists to help even out skin tone and diminish the look of discoloration with continued, regular use.
When I first squeezed Even Better Makeup foundation out of the tube I immediately thought that the consistency was way too runny to give me the coverage that I wanted, and evenly for that matter. But when I applied it onto my skin, my doubts started to melt away.
Yes, the formula is thin, but I could see that it provided me with enough coverage to mask the red from my cheeks and even out the skin tone on my forehead and chin while remaining totally lightweight, it’s like I’m not wearing anything at all!
This proved to be just what the doctor ordered to keep me looking natural, whether I’m laying out by the pool in Las Vegas or spending an afternoon running errands today in the city. I snapped this photo right after I came home from the store and nearly scorching my toosh on my car’s black leather seats. My face wasn’t melting and I felt relieved not to have to worry about it at all.
Clinique’s Even Better Makeup with SPF 15 hits counters this month – have you tried it? What are your foundation favorites when the weather heats up?
Right now I’m heading out the door to go grab some sushi for dinner, yippee! Hope your Monday was a good one!

Your face looks flawless. =)
I don’t switch foundations. Is that bad? I use MAC Studio Fix Fluid year round since it gives me the coverage I need.

Picked it up just last week with a GWP; am loving it so far. I have very yellow-toned skin and was initially alarmed at how beige/pink it came out of the tube, but it melted right into my skin, blending really naturally, and didn’t make me look ashy at all.

Hi Nikki,
It’s been a while, how are you? I hope everything is well!
It’s so hot here in San Francisco the past couple of days, it makes me wish this city came with a nice beach where I can get a drink with an umbrella in it

Hi Marisol,
I don’t generally switch foundations either but I’m definitely aware which formulas I might not want to wear just in case it comes off too heavy that it will melt off.
When I first saw this Clinique I thought it was too runny and light, but since it’s been so hot I wanted to try it because it would have been a much lighter formula during this heat.
If yours works for you, don’t change it!
Happy Tuesday – stay cool, chica!

Hi Lyn,
Thanks so much for stopping by, I’m glad you like this product too! What foundation were you wearing before you tried Clinique?

Hi Sara,
Thanks so much! I don’t wear much makeup on most days so I do my best to make it stretch
Now if I can only master the more complex looks, I’d be happy!
Hope you have a great day!!

Oooh, this looks so fresh and natural. I want your skin! Thanks for this review, I’ll grab a sample when it comes out. I’m always on the hunt for the best foundation. Would it work for oily skin?

it looks great!
what color are you using? because clinique usually has a little too pinkish undertones for my skin but this looks quite good…

Hi Janet,
This foundation is oil-free so it should be friendly to oiler complexions. I’d still sample it out first before committing but I genuinely think you’ll love this!

Hi aiko,
The shade I have on is Ivory. It’s not too pink at all, in my opinion. I hope you get to try it!

i love your make up! You look so gorgeous–just fresh and natural.
I wear Bare Essentials foundation. I live in SF as well, and today it will be freezing.
I will try this foundation when Nordie’s offers their GWP.

Hi bella,
Thanks so much! I hope you love this too.
I’m glad that our SF weather is cooling down a bit but hopefully there will be some sun over the weekend so we can be outdoors. Do you have anything fun planned for yourself?

Hey Lilan,
I’m about 24, and looking for my first foundation. I’m looking at Elizabeth Arden’s Intervene Makeup and this Clinique Even Better Makeup, can you tell me which one would be more suitable for my age?
Thanks!
On May 7th, 2009 Lilan said:
Hi Nicky,
I really like Intervene as well, but let me ask, do you need light or heavier coverage? Is your skin on the oily side?
Intervene markets itself for more mature skin, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for your young 20s skin
Clinique is lighter in coverage and is oil-free in case you’re more proned to breakouts. It’s really up to you and what your skin type is and what you’re looking for as far as coverage, but they are both great foundations.
I hope this helps!

Hey Lilan,
Thanks for your reply.
I have few acne scars, but they’re not very obvious, and I have combination skin slightly on the dry side. I tried one foundation before, but it was very dry.
I’m looking for a more natural color, and light to medium coverage.
Thanks again for your help!

Im confused by your statement– I work for Clinique, and it hit counters some time ago, not this month, and it isn’t really new at this point (our Acne Solutions makeup is our newest foundation). Just clearing that up!
