Laura Mercier Bohemia Boho Bronze FOTD
Every time I’ve walked through the beauty counters I always stop to check out Laura Mercier’s new Bohemia Collection, a rich collection of desert and marine-inspired shades.
And every time, I’d apply her Lip Colour Shimmer ($22 US) in Boho Bronze on my lips and be on my merry way. However when I stopped by the counter again for the fourth time the other day to swipe Boho Bronze, I knew that it was telling me something and that I just had to get it. I mean, if I have to wear a shade every time I see it that should tell me something right?
Boho Bronze (right) is a copper kissed brown, very similar to an old favorite of mine, Quartz – the very first Laura Mercier lip color I ever bought. It applies smoothly, like a dream, and stays on for a few hours. With vitamins A and E, this lippie helps to keep my pout soft and healthy looking.
While I was at the counter, I was on a summer makeup kick and also picked up a tube of HydraTint with SPF 15 ($20 US) in Bronze Tint (left), a bronze with gold pearl. I’ve never tried these before but I loved the sheer color and thought it would be a great way to touch up my lip color as well as keep me protected from the sun.
For today’s look, I choose to pair Boho Bronze with an olive green eye shadow from my shu uemura Secret Luscious Rose palette (from Holida 2008). I love how all the colors from this set is so universal, I wear combinations from it often.
I swept Clinique Almost Bronzer SPF 15 ($28.50 US) in Light/Medium on my nose, forehead, and chin for a light glow and concentrated the color on my cheeks as a blusher/bronzer. (PS – More on summer bronzers very soon!)
It’s too bad that I wore a red sweater today, I think my the lip color would have appeared much more bronze-y like the swatch on my hand had I been wearing a warmer shade like brown, ivory, or green.
It’s time to dish – tell us what makeup you’re wearing today!

I’m wearing MAC Mink and Sable eyeshadow with Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Lucky. I swiped on some MAC lipglass in Silly Girl and curled my lashes!
P.S. I love the lips!! It’s so flattering, and I think that many skintones can try that lip color.

How does the Boho Bronze look alone? Is it just a shimmery hint or can you see that its really gold?
Today I did Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow in Sandy Gold, followed by MAC’s Paradisico and Blacktrack fluidline for a liner, topped off with Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black. Threw on some Orgasm/Laguna Blush/Bronzer from Nars and a swipe of MAC lustreglass in Love Nectar and out the door!

Hi Kate,
Boho Bronze is a darker sheer copper brown, not really gold at all.
Your makeup look sounds gorgeous, I like my Orgasm/Laguna duo too! How do you liKE CHANEL mascara? That’s one I still haven’t tried yet.
Happy Wednesday!

Thank you, gio!
Do you have a favorite bronze lip color you’re wearing this season?

Lilian-
Whoops! I mixed the two up! I meant to ask about the lip balm, Bronze Tint; I’ve heard people chatting up gold recently (Benefit’s Gilded, which is actually an eyeliner, but apparently everyone uses under red gloss, is all over the place), and wondered if it was worth the investment!

Hi Kate,
Sorry for getting back to you so late!
Bronze Tint is more on the gold side than bronze. It’s not quite as gold as Benefit Guilded but I think it’s worth taking a look at while you’re at the counter so see if it’ll work for what you want it to do. Since you mentioned it, I think I might dabble with this under some red glosses just to see what happens too!
