Summer Makeup Bag Essentials

Like clothes, makeup gets rotated in and out with the seasons and my makeup bag reflects that. So, what are the bare necessities needed for your summertime routine? While it varies from person to person, these are some of my basic makeup bag essentials.
Softlips Raspberry with SPF 20 ($3.69 US) is an absolute staple for me in the summer. Lips need to be protected with SPF just like skin so I make sure to reapply this often. Not that I mind, since it’s so yummy!

Korres Hydrating Face Water ($21 US) is the most amazing relief for sweaty, sticky skin. It gives a nice cooling effect and doesn’t strip my skin of moisture.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Bourbon ($16 US) is my go-to eyeliner, a basic brown with flecks of gold shimmer that I can use to liven up any look. I use it often in the summer since it’s waterproof and long-lasting.
Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets ($5.29 US) are lifesavers for my oily skin! I carry them everywhere to make sure I stay matte. I use them up pretty quickly in the summer weather, but the recessionista price makes it okay.
Sephora Lush Flush Wine Lip and Cheek Stain ($10 US) is my favorite out of all the 2-in-1 products I have! The Red Wine Extract has tons of antioxidants and the gel-based formula is smooth and easy to apply. I love it even more in the summer because of the lightweight formula! It is my perfect, versatile summer flush and lip color.
Revlon Eye Makeup Eraser Pen ($7.79 US) is a small, portable touch up pen that erases smudges throughout the day. It’s budget-friendly and works well to remove imperfections. You’ll be wondering how you’ve gone without it!

MAC Hello Kitty Beauty Powder in Tahitian Sand ($22 US) is a pressed powder I find myself reaching for often. It has virtually no color so it works great as a blotting powder. Since it was a limited edition product, it’s no longer available, but any pressed powder will work wonders in your summer makeup bag!
MAC 181 SE ($30 US) was a limited edition brush that is now long gone. However, the MAC 182 ($45 US) makes a great alternative. The 181 SE is basically a small kabuki brush that I use to apply my MAC Hello Kitty Beauty Powder in Tahitian Sand.

In the summertime I love wearing bright pops of color so I always make sure I have something in my bag to liven things up, like MAC’s Technakol Liner in Jade Way or Smoothblue or a bright lipstick like Chanel’s Porto Rotundo or Lilac Sky.
And Softlips are such a saving grace when you need SPF coverage that tastes good!
