Bridal Beauty: Get Camera-Ready!
For brides, it’s not just about the perfect wedding day where she doesn’t trip on her gown, where the 6-tiered cake isn’t tipping over, and where Uncle Bob isn’t belligerent and embarrassing anyone during the Best Man’s toast.
For brides, the memories that are captured on film are just as important as a wedding day that goes off without a hitch. There are lots of beauty products out there that help women keep a flawless face all-day long. Don’t let the hundreds of thousands of dollars you spend on photos be less than as perfect as your wedding day.
Here are a few products and tips we found to keep you looking picture-perfect, literally:
Get your hands on Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood ($28 US), a translucent balm for your face that helps to reduce the appearance of lines and pores. It also works to combat shine throughout the day so you don’t have to touch up with powders, which can often lead to a cakey complexion.
Another Benefit must-have for the big day is She Laq Magical Makeup Sealer ($30 US). It comes with a myriad of applicators so that you can apply it onto your lips, eye lids, lashline, and even over mascara to seal in your makeup and prevent those tears of joy from running down your face.
Makeup artists use Erno Laszlo Shake-It ($45 US) on celebrities to prep them for on-camera appearances, so why not use it on your wedding day? This toner-with-color treatment controls surface oils, covers imperfections and can be worn alone or under foundation to deliver an even-looking tone and a natural matte finish.
To seal and extend your entire bridal look, try Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Finish ($29 US). Featured on The Today Show (my fave!), these finishing mists makes locking in your makeup easy with one spritz to prevent melting. Plus I’d imagine the spray effect will help to cool down brides on those warm days as well!

I LOVE my Shelaq. I would have to say it is one of the best products I own. I have very unruly eyebrows, so I use it to set them after I have filled them in. Not only does it stop my brows for going all over the place, it stops the brow pencil from smudging (I have a bad face-touching habit).
I also use it for setting my lipstick…
But one of my faveoutie applications is to lightly dab it overtop my eyeshadow then put a glitter (like MAC’s reflects Teal) overtop… it keeps it in place all day and looks amazing!
