Flirt with Your Eyes: Lash-A-Delic Mascara
Amidst the golden makeup looks we’ve been seeing, subtle pops of color for the eyes are a must this season. For me, sporting colored mascara is a fun way to incorporate this trend and when I do wear it, I feel young, sassy, and ready to rule the day.
Lately I’ve been experimenting with Flirt! Cosmetics Lash-A-Delic Mascara in Groovy Blue ($14 US), an electric royal blue that looks amazing worn by itself for that burst of color or to compliment a more dramatic indigo eye.
When I first pulled out the mascara wand, I thought to myself, “There’s no way my lashes are going to look that blue.”
But after I tried it, the color truly comes through with at least two coats. It looks more subtle indoors and at night, but in daylight, I can definitely see how vibrant the color is. It’s a full-on burst of blue that’s totally undeniable.
I was pleasantly surprised that Lash-A-Delic helped to lengthen my lashes without weighing them down, although I would have loved some more volume.
Would you ever rock the blue mascara? Here are some more suggestions for colored mascara if you’re looking to mix it up this season.
Urban Decay Big Fatty Colored Mascara ($17US) in Electric Blue, a vibrant turquoise that will give your brown or blue eyes a pop every time you wear it.
Guerlain Maxi Lash Extreme Volume Mascara ($29 US) in Wonder Blue, a Sephora exclusive, coats your lashes for a volumizing and lengthening “push up” effect.
Get a double-dose of color and sparkle with Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara ($8.50 US, on sale!) in Blue Disco. Better yet, you can actually wear this sweat- and tear-proof mascara for up to 10 hours on the dance floor!

Wow, it really did make your lashes blue!
I’m not sure I could rock colored mascara confidently.
I’m still trying to master perfectly curled lashes.

Hi Karrie,
I think you can rock the blue! Maybe you can try a darker blue
Even though this was a bright color, it’s subtle enough that the Boyfriend only really noticed when we were outside in natural daylight and not when we were indoors.
I’m still trying to master the curled lashes too

That mascara looks really nice. You could do a total neutral eye look and use the mascara as a pop of color. Did it smudge throughout the day? i am always worried about that and then getting mascara all over my contact lenses.

Hi Marisol,
A neutral eye with a pop of this blue mascara is exactly how I love to wear this. I didn’t experience any smudging or flaking, which is a huge plus. I never thought about mascara affecting contact lenses since I don’t wear them – which are the worst ones for you?

Maybelline, Rimmel, Benefit, L’Oreal & Stila are the worst on me. They seem to make my eyes water more. I have been using Mally Roncals mascara and it works great. A bit pricey but I like the results.
