Nordstrom BeautyTrend Show, Part 2: MAC Makeovers
The Nordstrom Cosmetic Trend Show is the event of events for makeup enthusiasts. In Part 1, I featured the trends and tips I learned at the show. Afterwards, everyone was swarmed to get downstairs, in a rush to get them done. I was very excited and decided to get my makeover at MAC with my sister.
The counter was very crowded and busy. My sister and I sat down for our makeovers at MAC and told the makeup artist what we would like. I asked for a gold smoky eye after seeing all the featured models with high shine on their lids. My sister asked for the total opposite: a neutral, matte brown daytime smoky eye. So, here are the results!
Here is the basic breakdown for my look.
Face:
-MAC Wipes ($17 US)
-MAC Oil Control Lotion ($29.50 US)
-MAC Blot Powder Pressed in Medium Dark ($21 US)
-MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Refined ($27 US)
Eyes:
-MAC Paint in Base Light ($16.50 US)
-MAC Eye Shadow in Goldmine, Gorgeous Gold, and Saddle ($14.50 US)
-MAC Dazzle Lash Mascara in Black Dazzle ($12 US)
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($15 US)
Lips:
-MAC Dazzleglass in Smile ($18 US)
Now, here is the basic breakdown for Jade’s look.
Face:
-MAC Wipes ($17 US)
-MAC Oil Control Lotion ($29.50 US)
-MAC Blot Powder Pressed in Medium Dark ($21 US)
-MAC Eye Shadow in Sushi Flower ($14.50 US)

Eyes:
-MAC Paint in Base Light ($16.50 US)
-MAC Eye Shadow in Tempting, Wedge, and Cork ($14.50 US)
-MAC Fluidline in Dipdown ($15 US)
Lips:
-MAC Dazzleglass in Steppin’ Out ($18 US)
During our makeovers, our makeup artists also gave us some great tips for application.
#1- Use a smudge brush, like the MAC 219 ($23 US) to apply darker shadow to the outer ‘V’. Your eyes will look bigger, because you are contouring them.
#2- You can use eye shadow as blush! For Jade’s FOTD, the artist used Sushi Flower as a bright blush. You’ll get more mileage out of your products.
#3- Don’t make a cat eye in one stroke. Try making short, small dashes and then connect them.
#4- Using MAC Wipes will refresh skin and hydrate your skin while getting rid of dirt and grime from your pores.
#5- (My favorite!) Makeup has no rules. Just play with it and experiment to find out what works best for you.
What do you think of our FOTDs? Where would you go to get your makeovers? Tell me in the comments!

Hi Kim!
I agree. MAC always has that chic look with their uniform of black. Plus, I wanted to check out the Style Warrior Collection!
