Every bride wants to look her very best on her big day.  We were dying to get the inside scoop to give you the best wedding beauty tips and tricks, so we talked to Keri Blair, Senior Artist of the MAC Pro Team.

Here’s what we dished about:

- What are some easy tips for brides to change her makeup from ceremony to reception?

Change your lip color!  Try using a soft plum color when saying your “I do’s” like MAC Lipstick ($14 US) in Sophisto (left), Hot Gossip (center) or Capricious (right).

Bobbi Brown Nudes Collection: New Shades of Creamy Lip Color!

bobbi-brown-nudes-promo2.jpg

Last week I was at Bloomingdale’s after running a couple of errands in downtown San Francisco and saw a brand new collection from Bobbi Brown that had just been set up the day before.  There was only one gal working the counter so I couldn’t really ask her all I wanted about the pretty new Nudes Collection.

I know, I know, Bobbi Brown is already known for this type of contemporary classic look.  But something about her products and sensibility when it comes to makeup and beauty always draws me in – just take a look at my closet full of Banana Republic ‘fits and you’ll know I never shy away from tried and true vs. trendy. ;)

IMATS Part 1: Beauty Trends and Tips

imats-p1-opening-picture.jpg

Thousands of people come the The International Makeup Artist Trade Show every year, a one-of-a-kind show to celebrate, play with, and learn about makeup. IMATS is held five times a year in London (January), Vancouver B.C. (April), Los Angeles (June), Sydney (September), and Toronto (November). This is the show for any makeup enthusiast.

The Facts:
- This event is open to anyone. You don’t have to be a makeup artist to come.
- The Exhibition Hall ticket costs $15 which lets you into the room where all the vendors are selling items.
- The $35 ticket lets you into the seminars where professionals like Eve Pearl, a 5-time Emmy Award winning celebrity makeup artist who’s clientele has included the cast of The View and Kelly Ripa, discuss topics and demonstrate tips and techniques.

Since there were so many fabulous makeup gurus, I learned so much at IMATS.  Every single representative at each booth was very knowledgeable and gave me so many tips and trend predictions to share!

Make Up For Ever was one of the first booths I had to run to as they were giving a 40% off discount on all products! I learned from one of the artists I was chatting with that High Definition Makeup is taking off and easy, multi-tasking products are also becoming very popular. She was very informative and gave me these great tips:

picture-perfect-wedding.jpg

For brides, it’s not just about the perfect wedding day where she doesn’t trip on her gown, where the 6-tiered cake isn’t tipping over, and where Uncle Bob isn’t belligerent and embarrassing anyone during the Best Man’s toast.

For brides, the memories that are captured on film are just as important as a wedding day that goes off without a hitch.  There are lots of beauty products out there that help women keep a flawless face all-day long.  Don’t let the hundreds of thousands of dollars you spend on photos be less than as perfect as your wedding day.

Here are a few products and tips we found to keep you looking picture-perfect, literally:

Get your hands on Benefit’s Dr. Feelgood ($28 US), a translucent balm for your face that helps to reduce the appearance of lines and pores.  It also works to combat shine throughout the day so you don’t have to touch up with powders, which can often lead to a cakey complexion.
