Stretch Your Dollar with Double-Duty Beauty

double-duty-beauty.jpg

I’m always looking for a bargain beauty deal when I’m out shopping, isn’t everybody?

It’s exciting to see that brands are developing new products with more than one use.  I’ve also seen brands re-market items to show us additional ways of using them, which is awesome.

But lately, I’ve learned to shop in my own beauty arsenal to find products I can use in a multitude of ways to stretch my own dollar.  Because sometimes I just need to curb my enthusiasm for buying new goodies and save a buck or two.

Shimmering golds and pink are hot, hot, hot right now for summer.  If you snagged yourself one of Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Bricks in Copper Diamond or Platinum Pink ($40 US) from past seasons, bring it back out and try using it as an eye shadow.

I love the glow it gives my complexion when I swirl all the colors together, but you can use the single shades as shadows.  It’s a face highlighter and an eye palette in one!  ;)

The Eraser ($19 US) from Tarte is a great multi-use goodie.  Not only can you apply it to problem spots and brighten up under eyes, you can also use it as a lip primer to help keep your color last longer.

Moisturize every inch of your skin with Elizabeth Arden Eight-Hour Cream Skin Protectant ($25 US).  It’s great for chapped lips, dry knees and elbows (don’t go lay out by the pool without it!), and your heels and soles.  No one wants dry feet peaking out from those sexy stilettos.

Another great all-over moisturizer is MAC Naked Honey Skin Salve ($18.50 US) – all the same uses, but smells delicious like honey.  You can use these skin salves to tame unruly eyebrows too!

There are tons of beauty products on the market that you can use for cheeks and lips.  My current go-tos are Benefit’s Posietint ($28 US) for the days where I wear more natural colors.  For a bolder, richer option I like Stila Covertible Color in Poppy ($25 US).

Do you have any budget saving tips for beauty?  What are some of your Double-Duty favorites right now?
