A Great Beach Body Starts in the Shower
Let’s all admit it, half of a gal’s summer is spent getting ready for the beach AKA “swimsuit season”. No matter who you are or what you do, you want your body to look good when you get to the beach and spend endless hours exercising, dieting, and self-tanning.
But once you get to the beach, the sun, salt water, and sand can wreck havoc on your skin. What do you use to reverse the signs of damage? Here’s my solution:
You wouldn’t want harsh synthetic dyes and weird chemicals, like preservatives, to get absorbed into your skin, like you might get with other body washes. Instead, I use a USDA certified Organic shower gel like Sea Enzyme Seaweed Citrus Shower Gel ($25 US).
With the citrus scent, I could’ve sworn there were Orange Creamsicles in the shower, when I lathered it on! Plus, the seaweed extracts, an amazing antioxidant, detoxifies and tones the body without irritating it.
Sea Enzyme Seaweed Peppermint Scrub ($15 US) is your prescription for dry, cracked, and peeling skin. Exfoliation is key for sloughing off dead skin, and when the product for this nasty job is organic, that helps makes the job a little better!
Apricot kernels and aloe help heal and soothe skin, while peppermint and spearmint add that minty fresh tingly smell and feel. The scrub feels smooth, and leaves your skin glowing, and baby bottom soft. Try it on your feet for a luxurious foot rub. (P.S. I love the packaging! It’s not like traditional body scrubs where the product is stuck in a huge tub, and you have to claw it out with your fingers and nails!)
Fun Fact: It’s quite ironic and funny that the products use the power of the ocean to make their products amazing, yet the ocean/beach is what causes our skin to need these products! It’s a strange, strange world isn’t it?
What’s your stand on organic skincare? Would you purchase any, sometime in the near future? What’s your beauty ritual for prepping for the beach? Share your comments and tips below!

Two years ago, I went organic and I never looked back. I only use organic and natural bath and beauty products. The Sea Enzyme products sound absolutely fantastic…if a bit pricey. I use Dr. Bronner’s soaps in the shower, they contain no SLS yet still foam up nicely and smell so great. For scrub I just read a pretty nice tip about using sugar and olive oil as a scrub. I’m going to give that a try! Great post!
