Tips to Making Your Perfume Last All Day
Perfume can be as delicate as the woman who dons it, and as fragile as the florals from which it is made. So delicate that often times it does not last as long as you would like.
While your perfume smells great for the first couple of hours after you spray it on, about halfway through the day, the scent slowly fades. To remedy that, we have some tips you can try to keep your signature scent lingering in the air long after you’ve gone.
Lather up with your favorite perfume’s shower gel! Layering the extra boost of fragrance will ensure a good base for your perfume to sit on. Most brands offer gift with purchases or gift sets that include free shower gels, so wait for one of these deals to save. Pictured: Juicy Couture Frothy Shower Gel ($40 US)
We can’t all be rock stars thrashing our hair around, but just in case, try a scented shampoo and conditioner. When a breeze flows through your hair, you and everyone around you will catch a whiff of that delightful smell. Make an exfoliating experience even better with a scrub by your favorite perfume . Smell wonderful and give yourself a special treat after a long day! Then follow up with rich and buttery body crème – it’ll do wonders for dry, scaly skin.
Just think of your scented body crème as the primer for your perfume. The base will ensure it stays on all day, just like your eye shadow primer. Pictured: Juicy Couture Royal Body Crème ($55 US
Dust a little bit of magical fairy dust onto your shoulders for an old Hollywood glamour feel. A scented powder can also do double duty as a shimmer for all to admire. Pictured: Juicy Couture Decadent Dusting Powder ($55 US)
Finally spray on your favorite perfume. A signature scent will always make you feel special, so don’t be afraid to indulge a little! Make sure you spray on your pulse points to allow the fragrance to “stick” to your skin. Dab a little behind your ears, your neck, on your wrists, and behind your knees.
