MAC Make-Up Art Cosmetics Fall 2009: As Seen By Richard Phillips

MAC Fall 2009 Richard Phillips promo

The most wearable of season’s Make-Up Art Cosmetics collection comes from renowned painter Richard Phillips.  This set features a full array of eye shadow palettes, cheek colors and a complete selection of lipsticks and lip glasses.

Racy, hyper-glam images revved-up in a modern take on vintage magazine pages, transformed into a super-vixen collection of colour for eyes, lips and cheeks. Paint it bigger-than-life with style and sensuality.

Softer than what you’d expect for fall, Make-Up Art Cosmetics Collection as seen by Richard Phillips features three limited edition 4-shadow palettes in gold, violet, and green sets ($36 US each).

MAC Richard Phillips_Notoriety Eye Palette

Notoriety is a warm palette with delicate golds and copper shades for fall.   Swatching these, I certainly thought the colors would be bolder but glints of shimmer in each pan gives this quad nice dimension.

From left to right: Skintone 1 (light white pink), Rich and Earthy (rich coral bronze), Skintone 2 (dirty gold), and Notoriety (dirty brown with gold pearl)

MAC Richard Phillips_In The Gallery Eye Palette

In The Gallery features matte shades in the purple family.  I really like violets, especially in the fall as they are nice transition shades between summer and autumn.  I’m a fan of the pearl finishes, but if you’re looking for a more neutral look, these mattes one’s for you.

From left to right: Lightfall (pale pink), Look at the Eyes (light violet), In the Gallery (dirty blue pink), and Private Viewing (deep brown plum)

Today I’m wearing the Notoriety quad, applied very light-handedly so that I could rock Full Body lustre lipstick ($14 US), also from the Richard Phillips set.

The lipstick looked very dark in the tube, almost brown with a tinge of red, but on my lips it’s a sheerer plummy red.

MAC Richard Phillips_Full Body FOTD

Please excuse the lighting in this FOTD – I took it this morning at about 7am outside of my house.  The natural morning light wasn’t quite bright enough yet and all my indoor lights give off a strange fluorescent glow.

The natural light in my old bathroom gave a truer portrait of what the products look like on so hopefully I’ll find the right light to post my FOTDs for you now that I’m in a new house.
