Straighten Up with Redken Sheer Straight

Redken Sheer Straight Gel

My hair is already straight so when I style my locks in the morning, I usually don’t require more than a paddle brush when I blow dry my hair to keep it straight.

However, Orange County weather has been a little more humid than I’m used to and by mid-day, my hair’s got a slight wavy kink in it.

For the past few days, I’ve been trying out Redken’s new Sheer Straight 06 Lightweight Straightening Gel ($15 US) to see if my hair style can hold up to near 90-degree weather and afternoon mugginess.

This morning I’m happy to report that Sheer Straight certainly does help keep the kinks at bay.

The gel formula is definitely light enough for my fine hair and doesn’t weigh it down.  I was also surprised since I usually equate gels with making my hair crunchy or hard, but after I blow-dry my locks are touchably soft.

To ensure that my hair stays stick straight, I also run a flat-iron through it.  Redken Sheer Straight features the brand’s Straight-out Complex, containing proteins to help protect from heat damage and coconut and olive oils to condition and retain moisture.  A win-win to keep healthier looking hair.

Within Redken’s new straightening collection, Sheer Straight 06 is meant for fine hair; if you have medium hair, try their Align 12 Protective Straightening Lotion ($16 US) and if you have coarse hair, use Power Tame 16 ($16 US).

Have you tried any of these new Redken straightening products yet?  They’re available online and in salons now.
