New and Improved Body Shop Tea Tree Line

Tea Tree is a natural ingredient often found in skincare products for treating blemishes. It works really well for my mom, much better than salicylic acid, which dries out her skin.
When I saw the new and revamped Body Shop Tea Tree Skincare Line, I couldn’t resist wanting to try out some items from the line with my mom!
After being helped by the nice and helpful sales ladies, we decided on the Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash ($13 US) and the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion ($18 US). I have to say that the service at The Body Shop is amazing.
They give out generous samples of most things, and will help you come up with a great skin regimen. The lady told us that the Tea Tree Line is more effective since there is twice the amount of blemish fighting ingredients in the products!

The Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash ($13 US) was milder than we expected. This scrub was too gentle for the pesty blackheads on my nose, but my mom liked it for an allover scrub. This is better for those who want light exfoliation over their entire face as opposed to using this as a scrubbing cleanser product.
In Mom’s words, “I just hate the awful smell, it’s too strong. But, the scrub is nice for when I feel like my skin is really oily. It helps me unclog my pores. So, I endure the smell for the nice results. Just hold your breath or breathe through your mouth!”
We were both looking forward to the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion ($18 US). After all, who doesn’t like the thought of healing blemishes while you sleep? Unfortunately, once again this is not as effective for me as it was for my mom.
Any random blemishes that pop up for me are usually just small, single ones. A spot treatment would have worked better for me. However, my mom loved this! After spreading this night moisturizer over her face for the past two weeks, everyone agrees that her skin is on a better path.
She says, “I love the matte effect. My skin feels less oily, and I really feel like the product is working for my skin. It’s really effective.”

I tried the Tea Tree Oil a few years ago and I gave up on it because I didn’t like the smell and the scrub I find was too harsh. Now that they revamped the line and I have a stronger endurance to bad scents because I would endure anything for beauty now LOL, I would give this a try again. I normally use Retin A Micro, which is effective but it tries out my skin in the spots a used the treatment, so I might give the lotion a try. Who doesn’t want to moisturize and compact pimples at the same time?

Yay Amy!
I’m glad you’re willing to re-try new lines! I hope you’ll enjoy your experience with the revamped Tea Tree Line better than before. The moisturizer really helped my mom a lot, so you might find it perfect for you.
Good luck!

I used to love the old tea tree oil toner – but the new formula burns my skin, and has my face completely dried out…..I am very disappointed as it was one of my favorite products.

I’m so sad to hear that Mopp!
I guess Tea Tree is a little too strong for your skin…Maybe you can try the Seaweed line, which is also a mattifying/blemish fighting line that’s more gentle. My mom loves the seaweed toner, in fact!
